They were going to a new colony that was facing a potential epidemic of what sounded like blood fever, a very common and easily dealt with illness. They would go right away because they were needed now. If they had a medical ship, they would be going instead. There would be three doctors and a pathologist on the crew but all of them were trained to work in other positions. At least that should help, right?

When Micar left, he was his second. Now he has a ship of his own and he never thought he would. He’s taking his ship and crew to the wilds of Rigely to bring back an ambassador for a treaty of peace and trade. That’s the easy part.
