Publisher's summary

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

My fave

Part 2 was performed so much better than part 1. The voice actor for Xaden changed his tone, and the new actor for Tairn was a great upgrade.

Better than part 1!

Thank you god for fixing tairns voice, part 1 voice was not doing it for me. Mira still sounds like a TikTok ai that reads text. Could not wait for her character to stop talking since it sounded so terrible and devoid of any human emotion.

Better cast than the 1st

I love the books I’ve read it like 4 times already. But for what I visualized while reading the books, I hated the tone of voice used for xaden. He legit sound like that annoying prick no one wants to be around trying to hard. Liam sounds like 40 year old who smokes, Tarins voice was okay could have been better. Some of the lines were off.

Definitely need to do better for iron flame cuz both dramatization for fourth wing for me were eh. There could be way better casting.

Just the right amount of everything.

I’m a huge fan of full cast audio dramas so choosing this adaptation was a no brainer. This book was incredible from start to finish and the last few parts were enthralling. The ending caught me off guard and my own jaw dropped! The spicy scenes get a tad bit out of hand but you can easily jump forward a few 30 second clips if you’d rather move on. All in all. I’m starting book 2 right now! Highly recommend the full cast audio version. Outstanding voice actors.

Loooooove Xadens voice actor!!

Gabriel does such an incredible job as Xaden!!!! Please keep voicing his character in the next book!! Great job with the music, sound effects and Violet. Liam’s voice isn’t who I would picture.

Love it!

Okay, first of all—I am SO happy that they taught the female actress portraying Violet that she was pronouncing “macabre” wrong. She pronounces it correctly here. Amongst other words.
Plus, the music in here behind the story is so awesome! I love it!
The intensity that is blossoming between Xaden and Violet is palpable and amazing to hear. They do it very well!

Excellent voices for Violet and Xaden, but needed more editing.

Very engaging story telling. Excellent picks for Violet and Xaden’s narrators, I enjoyed these voices much more than the standard audiobook version. Liam sounded a bit too old though, and Tairn… that voice was not suited to a 100 year old dragon. I think this audio could have benefited from more editing, there are too many parts where the wrong narrator is reading (I was very upset to hear Violet say the “fuck it” moment, and not Xaden as it should be), they are speaking outloud but the Audio is using the “mental connection” editing, or the music is wrong for the scene (battle music during a romantic scene).
