About this listen
Tools for Harnessing Your Brain's Innate Power to Learn New Habits
What is the number-one factor for determining career success and personal fulfillment? The answer isn't genius, willpower, or passion - it's habit.
"The human brain is a champion for forming habits," teaches Lisa Wimberger. "Yet that essential quality can also get us stuck in self-sabotaging patterns." With Neurosculpting for New Habits, this dynamic teacher brings you two sessions of scientific insights and highly effective practices for rewiring your brain to promote healthy, self-empowering behaviors, including:
- How the brain forms habits - and why it retains unhealthy ones
- The crucial role of managing stress when creating healthy habits
- Intention, focus, action, and repetition - four steps for mastering habits, with mindfulness-based meditations for each step
Advances in neuroscience have transformed our understanding of the way our brains acquire and reinforce habits. Lisa Wimberger's Neurosculpting® uses proven techniques to consciously direct your brain's natural processes for learning and changing. Join her to learn this powerful approach for breaking unwanted behaviors - and instilling the habits that serve you in creating the life you choose.

Lighter than air, clearer than glass, altogether released from myself, I was nowhere around.' Thus Douglas Harding describes his first experience of headlessness, or no self. First published in 1961, this is a classic work which conveys the experience that mystics of all times have tried to put words to.

Our thought lives have incredible power over our mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. In fact, our thoughts can either limit us to what we believe we can do or release us to experience abilities well beyond our expectations. When we choose a mindset that extends our abilities rather than placing limits on ourselves, we will experience greater intellectual satisfaction, emotional control, and physical health. The only question is... how?

Story
In 1637, one Dutchman paid as much for a single tulip bulb as the going price of a town house in Amsterdam. Three and a half centuries later, Amsterdam is once again the mecca for people who care passionately about one particular plant—though this time the obsessions revolves around the intoxicating effects of marijuana rather than the visual beauty of the tulip. How could flowers, of all things, become such objects of desire that they can drive men to financial ruin?

Story
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

I have discovered a group of women who refuse to be exploited, are immune to manipulation, and who never settle in the name of love. These ladies know what they want and take what they want by beating men at their own game. Utilizing the secrets exposed in this book, these women gain power, money, and status. Men call them gold diggers, women call them hos, but they call themselves winners. This is the book that society doesn't want you to listen to….

Words. We use them all the time, every day, mostly without giving them much thought at all. We take for granted that they’re here at our disposal whenever we need them. But if you’ve ever wished you could communicate more effectively, words are the place to start. It’s incumbent upon you to choose the best words to accomplish your goals, because how you choose to communicate influences—well, everything! The power of communication shapes our professional goals, our relationships, and our lives—so the words we choose to use carry a great deal of power.

Powerful
I have read one of her other books and have been a fan since I heard her interviewed on someone else's podcast, but I highly recommend this audio version as the place to start. She reads it herself and the induction and first meditation in here are transformative.
Overall, the material is compelling and well organized but the meditation itself is the real gem.
Two meditations and an induction might not seem like a lot, but as she points out, you can use it as a template to create as many stories and meditations as you need.

Believing in Myself
I am a certified consulting hypnotist. I use it in counseling and find it to be an excellent tool for clients. This audiobook was very effective in aiding me with addiction to nicotine. The author layered the levels of identifying triggers and strengthened my skills. I was surprised when I completely stopped smoking after listening to the technique just one time!! I have no desire to smoke and I have smoked for 15+ years!!!! Thank you so much for giving the world this amazing, effective technique. I believe in myself, my strengths, and you brilliant knowledge.

Simply the Best!
I really enjoyed listening to this podcast. It has really changed my life. I was able to get my wife to listen to the podcast and she's fell in love as well. I am a licensed chemical dependency counselor in Austin Texas and have been using some of these meditation techniques with my clients. They love it! I'm thinking about getting my certification.

Uses negative phrases in her meditations
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The author suggests that you have negative feelings about yourself. And in doing so says things like "I'm not good enough." How does that help? That's the opposite of what you want.
