Publisher's summary

New York Times best-seller. Over five million copies sold

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him the Fittest (Real) Man in America.

In Can't Hurt Me, he shares his astonishing life story and reveals that most of us tap into only 40 percent of our capabilities. Goggins calls this The 40% Rule, and his story illuminates a path that anyone can follow to push past pain, demolish fear, and reach their full potential.

An annotated edition of Can't Hurt Me, offering over two hours of bonus content featuring deeper insights and never-before-told stories shared by David. Not available in other formats.

Ready, set, go...stop looking back-you!

Retired Navy Chief, loved this audiobook! Listened to this over a few day period every morning while taking my older kids to school as well. The mind is what truly separates a person from being where they are. The closing is the most true and inspired me to continue the growth path I'm On!

I believe we may have met, during a Pressure on the Force interview, and I knew Beck as well!

As a minority as well, we need more great people to show the actual diversity that people of color can do as well, and stop worrying about what their peers may think and live life according to what the creator has intended us to do!

I'm actually terrified now, thinking that on judgement day, did I do enough, for enough, and go above my levels that God knows I could endure.

Navy Chief, Navy Pride!

Great story. Horrible narration.

The story was incredible. But the narrator was bad. Horrible voice. Too high pitched and wasn't believable. David should've done it.

beyond words

Everything I hoped for and so much more. The transformations of this man are epic and serve to make us all question ourselves. I instantly want to listen to it all again. Thank you for sharing your soul David Goggins. The world is better because of it.

Get over it

Maybe not for everyone. If the language rubbed you wrong, well, get over it. I personally could strongly relate, eerily so at some points, and at a point in my life I feel like I too am on my deathbed. In the end, it all comes down to "Peace". I highly recommend this book!

Wow, this guy is intense

The only thing I wondered the entire time is what happened to his kid? Does he have a kid? I can’t stop wondering about that. Does anyone know? I can’t find anything online and since he mentions it briefly in the book, I really want to know? Is being a present dad on his list of things he should do to be a good human?

This will change your life if you let it!

After hearing David Goggins on the Joe Rogan podcast, I knew this book would be worthwhile. The stories are genuine, compelling, and inspirational. Will you ever do the things Goggins does? Maybe not, but you will take something constructive away from this book. Sometimes we all need a little inspiration to remember who we are capable of being, and this book has done that for me. Be warned, if swear words offend you, do not read/listen to this book as he is very candid throughout.
The only negative thing about the book is the length. I wish it was five times longer!! Good luck, now go do something that sucks!

language!

while the author stated that he didn’t care if i liked the foul language in his book or not, is VERY insensitive! i really liked this book. i fully understand that there is a time and place for explicative. however, he greatly over used them. for a man who overcame, and achieved sooo much? one would think that he would have used a little more finesse in his story telling.

the stories are riveting! very well told. however i cant in good conscience recommend it for even teen readers!

Wow! Just Wow!

Chuck Norris has a picture of David Goggins on his wall. That is best description of the author I have heard. This is the story of how Goggins made himself into what many people consider the toughest man alive. You can use some of his strategies to improve your life. No biography I have ever read is as inspiring as this one. The podcast aspect of this audio book adds even more power to it. Even if you have read the book, you should listen to this.

Take what you like from this book and go for the next one.

I really like the methodology of the Audio book, for me I speak different languages this is a very useful way to practice English, this book has several important points, such as the importance of discipline and being constant, it is a good guide but it is not the bottom line, don't take it all personally. I recommend it.
