Moms are good at one thing: the guilt trip. It’s the only reason I’m at the funeral of a man I’ve never had anything to do with. I’ll show up, make her happy, and get out. Kurz gesagt: das komplette Gegenteil von Jacobs und daher ganz sicher nicht als Anführer geeignet! Um den neuen Captain zu finden, hat sich das Team eine Reihe von Mutproben ausgedacht – möge der Bessere gewinnen.

Asher Dalton ist nicht gerade für sein sonniges Gemüt bekannt. Nach dem tragischen Unfalltod seiner Eltern hat er seine Karriere als Eishockeyprofi aufgegeben, um gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder West die jüngeren Geschwister aufzuziehen. Doch Asher ist von seinem neuen Leben komplett überfordert, seine Noten leiden, und er muss wohl oder übel das Nachhilfeangebot von Kole annehmen, wenn er wenigstens im College-Eishockeyteam bleiben will. Auch wenn er genau weiß, dass man sich vom Sohn des Trainers lieber fernhalten sollte.
