About this listen

Asher

Hockey, studying, and school runs. That's my life now. After a tragic accident that took our parents' lives, it's up to me and my big brother to take care of our five younger siblings. In between burning their meals and keeping them from killing each other, I'm supposed to get a college degree. If I don't get my grades up, I'm in danger of losing the one thing that makes me happy: my spot on the hockey team.

Which is why when the new equipment manager offers to tutor me, I really can't afford to say no. Even though I should. He's Coach's son and way too tempting.

Kole

As this year's equipment manager for Dad's hockey team, I'm expected to deal with sweaty jock straps and herding hockey players to their rooms at away games. The job is easy, but babysitting Asher Dalton is not supposed to be a part of it. So why, when his brother asks me to keep an eye on him, do I agree? Why, when he's struggling in classes, do I offer to help? And why, when we're studying, do I suggest a reward system that lands us squarely in bed?

Asher's trouble, I know he is. But there's something about him that makes it impossible to stay away.

Contains mature themes.

The comedic banter & their thoughts of & for each other

A unique and beautiful way on how patience & the willingness to look pass the presentation of someone may provide the opportunity to better understand and see what is really being expressed

The Best Studying You’ll Ever Do!

I swear each book gets better and better! This one is the coach’s son and the grumpy hockey player. Enough said. But the steamy rewards in exchange for getting answers correct is the cherry on top. Also filled with great friendships, and sibling family drama as usual in a Finley & Saxon book! The narrators were fantastic as always!

cute couple❤️

great character depth and development in Asher. I was looking forward to Ashers story. he found connection, love, and hope in Cole. I'm happy they were already out and we didn't have to listen to that overdone trope. Coles character was a little flat for me. he needed a little more drama that could've played off Asher. he did all the right stuff for asher and I love Cole for that, but that left the book lopsided. being anxious that the guy you're attracted to is going to play you at the beginning of a relationship is pretty normal, to be expected, so that doesn't count as real tension and the promise of tension fades fast when the characters do nothing to justify it, i.e. they are monogamous and never waiver. that's all Cole really had. besides that and his medical school, there wasn't much to him other than being an emotional support bf.

This is my favorite from the series

It was an easy read and fun like the rest of the books in the series but this one had a little angst and I loved that

I love both narrators but Alexander is my favorite and the emotion he showed in chapter 21 made me an even bigger fan. That chaoter makes me cry every time I listen to it 🥺

Asher and Kole

This was great! I now know why Asher is always angry and what happened with Ezra lol I loved seeing Asher being vulnerable and how Kole was there to support him.

Great read! Loved Kole and Asher

I really enjoyed this one! I loved watching Asher and Kole come together and figure things out. Kole very quickly sees beyond the wall that Asher has up and knows that there is more there. Kole is Coach Hogan's son that lost a bet to his father and so now is the equipment manager for the season. It puts him in close proximity to Asher and the team when he sees the older brother side of Asher it changes his initial opinion of him. Asher is angry and dealing with the loss of his dad and step mom and his older brother, assistant coach West, has him put off taking his draft pick contract and help take care of their 5 younger siblings. He is acting out and pissing people off since he wants to start the fights and feel the pain but he is good with his younger siblings. I enjoyed watching the way that Kole interacted with Asher and pushed him past those walls. I loved the banter and watching their relationship grow as Kole helps Asher study and keep his grades up with a reward system that works for them both. Neither are really ready for the feelings that start coming as they spend more time together and getting deeper in getting to know each other. The story was well written and engaging and I truly enjoyed Asher and Kole and am excited for West's story next!

Awesome Series!!!

Kole, coaches son, and Asher coaches hot head player, become a very unlikely couple. Kole hates hockey after all!!! But…Asher needs his help with classes and Kole gives him a reason to stay out of trouble. Asher and brother West have a huge responsibility on the home front and I enjoyed that part of the story!

Good story. Good narration.

This was my favorite of the series so far because the characters were easy to relate to. The drama was also a bit more realistic.

With the exception of book two this series seems to have a nerd hates jock theme. This always drives me crazy because I went to a college with only science and engineering degrees, and we had sports teams. The star athletes were the nerds. I guess the nerd/jock tropes will never die, I just wish they would be changed up a bit. I am also puzzled by Asher's inability to relate math to hockey. Really? Hockey is packed with statistics, geometry, and physics! I might understand if he were a defender... Kidding. Defenders can be smart too.

Still enjoying the narration, and I have already started the next book.

Ten star listen!!!

Oh my word, where do I start with this amazing read/listen. Archer and Kole’s romance was one of the best I’ve read this far in this series but it was the emotional roller coaster ride that the outstanding narrators gave that had chills running up my spine. Iggy and Alexander are top notch and deserve an award for this one! When Archer broke, the performance was amazing!!! Loved it and thank you for the HEA! Must read and definitely must listen!
