An entertaining combination of horror and comedy.

The high-energy narration perfectly complemented the pop-culture reference-laced humor used to tell the tale of dealing with the real life demons of high debt and a low paying job. I also loved Steve's ( "don't be a jag off") Pittsburgh dialect. Overall, these stories are great diversions from the Poe-like atmosphere of our current time. Please keep these books coming.

I want more of this.

I though it was great. Definitely give this a shot. The only thing I noticed was the character voices were a bit different in the holiday special. Loved the story though. I definitely will keep an eye out for more.

Sooooo good

The performance is amazing and the story is ridiculous and amazing. I definitely recommend. I couldn’t atop listening and I’m sad it’s done.

Wow what a great book what an expecting it

If you like dark humor and satire this is the book for you Very entertaining all the way through can't wait To listen to book's 3 and 4

So funny

This book was great. Not as funny as Tales from the Gas Station but it still had me laughing out loud many times. I love horror comedies though

I'm Flat Out Jealous

This is one of those books that kept popping up in my recommendations for a while. Peers and friends kept tossing this out as "must read!" And like an idiot, I kept pushing back. Damn I was dumb.

24/7 Demon Mart: Publisher's Pack is SO MUCH FUN. I reckon a quick elevator pitch would be "Clerks meets Evil Dead" but that doesn't do it justice. The premise is that Llyod Wallace is a 21yr old loser... mostly. We all know the person/friend who started in life, had a setback or two, then ended up back living w/the their parents. And that's Lloyd. In a personal hole that's hard to climb out of for fear of failing again. So when the opportunity comes to work at the convenience store that happens to also contain a portal to Hell comes along, coming-of-age comedy ensues.

I've read some of the reviews that call this cartoonish--but in a negative way. I politely disagree. The tone is established right off the bat in the 1st person POV story. You know very quickly the kind of humor, antics, and insanity that the author is presenting. And I love it for that. And sometimes I like when the MC is not the bold type. Llyod is brave because you have to do the right thing in the face of fear to be brave.

So in the end, I love this book. DM Guay's writing--partnered with the amazing Todd Haberkorn (Drifter rules!) narration--made buying the next two audiobooks an easy sell for me. And as my review title states, as another indie author, I'm freaking jealous as Hell.

Great surprise

I bought book one and two with a credit after reading the synopsis not knowing what I would experience.

I was so pleasantly surprised this story is great, the horror comedy aspect is done so well.

Lloyd our main character is written really well in my opinion he has flaws but has endearing traits that make the reader like him.

Llyods coworkers Kevin the cockroach and Dee Dee are great side characters as well and you really feel for them as well, the book has a Ash vs Evil dead, Reaper TV series kind of vibe that really works by the time i finished the 19 hours I was sad it was over but thankfully there are several other books in the series.

If you like comedy horror books this one is a home run, can't recommend reading this series enough.

Fun story

A funny and excitement filed story. The narrator does a good job, but changed the voice of one character in book 2.

cosmic horror fun ride

I absolutely loved 24/7 Demon Mart!
The story combined many of my favorite horror tropes blended together with a slushie on top. The characters were so well developed that I actually cared about the employees of Demon Mart even Kevin the roach and Bubbie the hell centipede. This was so much fun and I want more.

the story itself is very solid, I'd enjoy reading it, but the narrator absolutely sells it.
