Wow. This was fantastic

How are there not more reviews?! This book is amazing and has a lot going on. It didn’t go the direction I was expecting at all and man, was I so happy to be wrong. The book, the characters, the child poltergeist……. And the narrator was superb! I laughed, I wondered “WTF is going?!” I have never liked an audio book this much since Tales From the Gas Station. Give it a whirl. A true dark comedy forged in the story of an underdog who put himself in the dog house. 10/10 recommend

New favorite Author & Performer!

This book was Awesome! If you love horror, suspense, comedy & Great Writing, this is for you! Very much like a David Wong book, or the Odd Thomas series. I happened upon it by Audible “You might like cuz..” Tried the sample & LOVED the performer! Definitely will be looking into more he has done. Coolest thing is, book 2 is already out also! I’ve already listened to it and it leaves off pretty much right where this book ended. It is ALSO a Must Listen!! I’m so happy to have found these books. I can not tell you how many times I’d start laughing out loud from what I heard. Characters are wonderfully created & introduced.

Great characters! Awesome narrator

My sister had me listen to the first chapter and I was hooked. It’s a unique story with great characters, good humor, and very entertaining. Really enjoyed this. It’s like Koontz and Cussler made a comedic love child. As a WA resident so I also enjoyed the local aspects. Moving on to book 2. Also, I will be following this narrator because he is great!!

Loved this book by Matthew Howry! I will definitely be listening to the next Dirk Cooper book. Also loved the Bens Dam Adventure series by the same Author.

Excellent!

I’m so glad I discovered this author. Story was unusual (to me) and very interesting. Narrator was excellent! I am going to purchase the next book, this one was on sale, glad I tried it!

Everyone has an angle!

This book was wonderful! Well written and very funny. Dirk and his talents definitely steal your heart. From the opening line I could tell I was in for a treat. I cannot wait to start the second installment! Also, Scott’s voice acting is unparalleled.

Not what I expected

Everything I needed. A great listen. Fun and just enough spooky for my taste. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. But there’s a minimum word count.

My review

the story plays out with a few cliché but rolls with them in a ironic fashion. the main characters are fun and the villain is while admittedly easy to spot, rather good despite all his flaws. the humor is childish but mature, very in line with what adult friendships are like. overall the book is great and I look forward towards the next book in line
