interesting story

Fun characters, fun story

It was a good story, went quickly. More a YA, but still entertaining. The status reads are a bit tedious. I've listened to Andrea Parsneau before, and enjoyed her narration.

A fun listen!

Besides being voiced by the spectacular Andrea Parsneau, the writing is quick paced, witty, and interesting. It’s a great twist on a formulaic genre. The monsters aren’t the typical orc, goblin, ogre yawn fest but are more animalistic. I like that the story is character and plot driven and not just stat driven. The heroines are also cool because they stay true to their roots. They aren’t just a pair of one-in-a-million over powered little weirdos that suffer but always win. I like that they’re just crafters trying to save their town.

I didn’t know what to expect, but this was an absolutely fantastic read. Definitely worth reading.

What makes one noble?

A wonderful litRPG with a weak-to-medium progression and some surprising twists. Don’t want to ruin the surprises, but I have already listened to it twice!

Love the ideas

I half expected the first book to end the way it did but the author did it in a neat way. Can't wait for book 2.

Decent start to a LitRPG series

3.5 stars

The writing in this book is a bit naive: characters don't react in ways that are completely believable, dialog is passable but not strong, and the plot has holes that should have been filled.

But the conceit is an interesting one: there is no person in the focus border town who has the "right" class to clean out the local dungeon, and if the dungeon isn't cleaned regularly, the town will wither away. The protagonist is assigned the class "Seamstress" and determines that regardless of class, she will save the town.

There are hints that the protagonist is not native to this world and that she remembers a world that I assume to be Earth. But those are only passing hints and the idea is not at all developed. I'd like to have seen these further developed (if the idea will be pursued in future books in the series) or removed entirely (if this will not be a major plot point).

The ending works fairly well for the first book in a series, and I have hopes that the writing will improve with time and the story will develop in interesting ways.

I want more!

I loved everything about it. I can’t wait to learn more about this world. Narration was great too!

Super good book!

This litrpg has a real storyline. it isn't just mindless hack & slash & stats.

I really enjoyed the characters. their interactions, the rpg components etc. I look for books like this but hardly ever find them. please keep writing!
