The arrival of a golf ball on the green at the eighteenth hole at Bingley-on-Sea sets in motion a train of events to cast men everywhere into despondency. William FitzWilliam Delamere Chalmers, also known as Lord Dawlish or simply Bill, goes to America to seek his fortune. A fortune unexpectedly finds him, leading to complicated adventures with greedy relatives, snobbish dowagers, dogs, chickens, and a monkey.

P.G. Wodehouse's first full-length Jeeves and Wooster book is a sparkling collection of linked stories, in which Bertie Wooster is harried by his fearsome Aunt Agatha, determined to marry him off; snootered by his anarchic cousins, the twins Claude and Eustace, the curse of the human race; and lugged into every romantic misadventure of his warm-hearted boyhood friend young Bingo Little. First published in the UK in May 1919, My Man Jeeves is a compilation of short stories by P. G. Wodehouse. Of the eight stories in the set, half presents the famous characters Jeeves and Bertie Wooster, whereas the others concern Reggie Pepper, an early prototype for Wooster.

The boy takes a liking to the dog and renames him Fido, taking him into his house. When you find yourself in need of a few laughs, you can't go wrong with P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves stories. "The Metropolitan Touch" delivers plenty of smiles, if not outright laughs. Bertie Wooster, our narrator, becomes entangled once again with the love life of his chum Bingo Little. Bingo has left the London high life for village England where he's found the girl of his dreams again. The trouble is that she has more and more suitors every week and has expressed little interest in Bingo.

A story about Lord Emsworth, keen that his fat pig, the Empress of Blandings, should win the 87th annual Shropshire Agricultural Show contest. Yet how he regains the appetite of his sow is truly worth listening to.
