A difficult topic made easy to digest

Mita’s book is a profound exploration of resilience and the challenges posed by others’ lack of awareness or ego. Her journey is both inspiring and eye-opening, highlighting the significant work still needed in fostering awareness.

What resonated with me the most was her gentle yet powerful reminder that it is our responsibility to improve ourselves. This books’s emphasis on the importance of asking the right questions and knowing who to direct them to is particularly enlightening.

This book is a quick, excellent, and easy read that I highly recommend.

The New Standard for DEI Books

I cannot say enough about, "Reimagine Inclusion". I have read up on DEI for years and most things within a corporate environment have seemed like bandaids, sometimes just for show.

What I love about this book is that it's straight-shooting and progressive, focused on sustainable strategies to increase diversity in the workforce. Extensive research has been done in support of the author's recommendations, which are actionable.

I appreciate how the book focuses on the true benefits that properly appreciating and supporting diversity will bring all companies.

"Reimagine Inclusion" has set a new standard for DEI and I recommend this book for everyone, regardless of your organizational role or background.

A must read for all leaders!

Mallick is able to clearly articulate the importance of DE&I efforts with research based analysis and real life situations. I can't wait to implement these practices in my own organization.

Actionable Steps to Becoming More Inclusive

I appreciate the candor throughout this book, speaking to specific examples of how today’s workplace can still be a toxic environment for countless marginalized groups. Mita gives examples for questions to ask your company’s leadership, as well as actions we can all take to become more impactful allies. This will go on my annual re-read list as I grow in my career, because there will always be more work to do in this space. We must all strive to understand our own unconscious biases and decolonize our language.

Actionable and empowering

This book is powerful. The way Mallick breaks down each myth, like "I'm all for diverse talent. As long as they're good" is artful. For instance, she suggests the actionable step of having a diverse slate. If you have two women on the final slate, there is a seventy-nine times greater likelihood that one of them will get the role. Similarly, if the final slate has two people of color, there is a 194 times greater chance of hiring a person of color.

She has other great strategies for retaining and attracting diverse talent in her book for each myth she presents. As a woman in a male-dominated field, I found myself nodding along to some parts while also realizing how much more I can and need to do to help build inclusive workplaces.

A Important tool to put in your tool box.



Reimagining Inclusion is not just a book; it's a transformative experience. As a CEO navigating the dynamic landscape of a startup, I found my eyes open to dimensions of DE&I I hadn't considered before. This book sheds light on your personal and professional out look on this topic. As a black man married to a black woman, and watching her navigate the corporate frustration, diversity has always been a topic of discussion for us. The distinction between diversity and inclusion became crystal clear, reshaping my/our perspective on organizational culture and interpersonal dynamics. As a former professional athlete, I appreciate the value of coaching and mentorship. The authors guidance "Reimagining Inclusion" serves as a roadmap and playbook for aspiring inclusive leaders like myself. I’m excited to implement what I’ve learned, translating theory into action within my company. If you’re looking to be successful in DE&I culture, this book has some key plays to score big.

Must read for all leaders!

No more excuses, as Mita masterfully debunks the myths surrounding inclusion efforts. She rightly points out that we should not focus on leadership traits but on the behaviors we want to see and experience that will help make us inclusive leaders and welcomed team members. She gives practical advice on how to be a more inclusive leader, team member or HR pro. She covers ways to do better with mentorship, sponsorships, and new moms. She explains why we have to stop protecting bullies. If you need to learn why your content or marketing is racist, she's got that covered, too.
