For John Sutton, things are finally looking up... For now...
The farm is running smoothly, the local bandits have been pacified, and he is starting to understand how magic works. Though none of that will matter if he can’t get his Doom Points under control.
As Ellie seeks to join the ranks of Class Holders, the mystery surrounding her grandmother grows and the two of them set off to discover the truth. But her legacy as a Witch is not the only mystery that needs to be explored. A strange plant is growing in Ferdie’s field, and it’s given John a new quest.
Meanwhile, a secret organization spreading its tendrils of influence throughout the war-weary world is plotting to destroy the fragile peace John fought so hard to achieve. As the shadows that surround this world are peeled back, he'll need every ounce of wisdom and restraint he has ever possessed to keep from blowing the whole thing up himself.
Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!
Performed by Peter Holdway, Wyn Delano, Jenna Sharpe, Ryan Dalusung, James Lewis, Andrew James Spooner, Christopher Williams, Rayner Gabriel, Christopher Walker, Rob McFadyen, Yasmin Tuazon, Dawn Ursula, Robb Moreira, Nazia Chaudhry, Nora Achrati, RJ Bayley, Jon Vertullo, Ian Putnam, Ken Jackson, Tanja Milojevic, Richard Rohan, Terence Aselford, Elliot Dash, Nanette Savard, Michael John Casey, Sheree Wichard, and Bradley Foster Smith.

This book is largely about the secondary character Ellie and how she comes into power and a large focus of the story is on her training and which heavily changes the tone of the entire story (and makes her character quite insufferable) reduces the story to a plethora of eye rolling clichés and cringe dialogue that is FAR too common in the genre. The first book was a refreshing take on litrpg with it's focus on farming and medieval/western themes. This follow-up however is exactly like every other eye-rolling litrpg you've ever read.
The performances are excellent as always, ESPECIALLY the wolf king who steals every scene he's in and has an actual personality, but the change in direction to the story is easily a sigs that the other sequels will follow suite. Was a big fan of book 1 but this one was a massive disappointment.
Follow up marred by a disappointing training arc
