"Azathoth" is the beginning of a never-completed novel written by American horror fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was written in June 1922 and published as a fragment in the journal Leaves in 1938, after Lovecraft's death. It is the first piece of fiction to mention the fictional being Azathoth, one of the major entities in Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, though the entity only appears in the title.

Lovecraft was born in 1890 in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a prodigious but sickly youth. At 14, he contemplated suicide when his grandfather died, leaving him and his mother almost penniless. But until the last decade of his life, the works of which we are so well aware did not arrive. Celaphais tells the story of a man who is the sole survivor of his family and just a nameless face among the other inhabitants of London. Depressed and fed up with life, he begins to favor the alternate reality he discovers while dreaming and even creates a new identity for himself, Kuranes. While "living" as Kuranes, he discovers his dream utopia of Celaphais in the Valley of Ooth-Nargai. Much to his disappointment, Kuranes is continually pulled away from Celaphais and begins to try harder and harder to find it again and live there forever.

"He" is a short story by American horror writer H. P. Lovecraft. Written August 1925, it was first published in Weird Tales, September 1926. The story's anonymous narrator has moved from New England to New York City, and greatly regrets it. One night, while wandering through a historic part of Greenwich Village, he happens upon a man dressed in garments from the 18th century. The man offers to show the narrator the secrets of the town. The man brings the narrator into his home.

"The Music of Erich Zann." Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890-1937) is a novelist famous for his horror stories, fantasy and science fiction. Although he was not famous during his lifetime, his work is now considered a classic of literature. Lovecraft's work has influenced many authors, including Stephen King, who considers him "the greatest craftsman of the classic horror story of the 20th century."
