Every detail was well thought out

Every time I thought there was a part of the story that was insignificant, the author brought it back in a striking way. This sexy, gothic romance was a perfect autumn read and my favorite read of 2024.

Sorry not for me

The melodrama was a lot and I love drama in books. On again off again in the same paragraph. I liked the characters that is why I finished. I loved the concept of this book and that is another reason I finished it.

could not put this down... addicted to what's next and what's NOT. and rawwwrrrr some sexy scenes my hubby benefited from greatly. he he he. Amazing writing that makes you feel like you're there. enough to be scared, happy, aroused, even blush and feel my face on fire. I kept trying to think of what books together would make this ONE but I cannot... it stands on it's own. romance, horror, mystery... steamy... beautiful with a dark delicate pleasure to it all.

I feel seen

What a wild ride. Like, holy moly. I like to go in blind to books so I can be surprised, so I had no idea OCD would part of the story, but I'm glad it was. I feel like I was meant to read this. It was hard at first to hear someone else going through what I have, but I'm glad I stuck with it. To write such vivid scenes can only come from experience. I've lived with OCD all my life, but was only recently diagnosed. Not many people know just how scary this disorder can be. Ophelia's (your) symptoms are SO similar to mine, it's nuts. Kaylie, thank you for sharing your experiences with the world. I can't wait to read this book again.

Dark, steamy, and so much fun!

Come with me as I step far outside my comfort zone into a world of dark romantasy filled with demons of every kind where a sheltered necromancer battles for her life while searching for her missing sister. Oh, my, what an intense and satisfying adventure this was!

Set in spooky, sultry New Orleans, PHANTASMA is a non-stop thrill ride with surprises in every chapter. Ophelia enters a contest (Phantasma) where there can only be one winner and the price of losing is death. The contestants must complete challenges based on the nine circles of hell. Along the way she meets Blackwell, a morally gray, but charming stranger who offers to help her in exchange for a very steep price. In Phantasma the only thing more dangerous than the deadly challenges is falling in love.

I alternated between the print and audio versions of this book and literally hung on every word. The production value of the audiobook was exceptional and Laura Horowitz‘s narration perfectly captured Ophelia’s fear and longing as she navigated the challenges and her growing attraction to Blackwell.

Kaylie Smith has written a heart pounding dark fantasy with an interesting premise and plenty of spice. This is a perfect read (or listen) for those who like their romance hot as the weather cools down.

I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this book! the storyline, the characters, the twists and turns. THE ENDING 🤌🏼 Definitely one of my new favorite books! This book will keep you guessing, have your heart beating, and blood pumping. Beautifully written 😍 and the spicy scenes are to DIE for🥵 I seriously cannot say enough good things about this novel ❤️

Amazing book!!!

I got this book at my BOTM and finished it within a day of receiving it. It was SO good! Very fast paced; the book is just under 500 pages and felt more like 300. It felt like I was in a time warp lol I loved all the characters and felt so attached to Ophelia’s character. This was a solid 10/10 for me.

Trails, romance, and definitely worth a try

4.75 ⭐️s. This gave me Kingdom of the Wicked vibes, and I was absolutely here for it.

I’ve seen TikTok’s of @laura_horowitz_narrator and was so excited to have my first audiobook with her narrating. It was amazing to say the least. I immediately purchased Worthy of Fate because she narrated it also.

Ophelia’s mother has died, and now she must take over the family business as a necromancer. When her sister goes missing, she must put the Grimm house and the horrible debt behind to find her. She learns that her sister has entered Phantasma. Ophelia must now enter the deadly contest for the one wish she must have granted. Save her sister. In order to win Phantasma, she must make a bargain. Blackwell is a phantom and claims he can help her but Ophelia must give something in return. 10 years of her life. She shouldn’t trust him but there’s something that keeps drawing her to him. Read to find out if Ophelia finds her sister, discover more about Blackwell, and whether or not she lives through Phantasma.
