About this listen

When my mother announces she's been dating someone, the last person I expect it to be is James Alistair–the father of two of my biggest bullies, Nix and Colt.

I never knew why, but they've always hated me. In school, they made my life hell, and, apparently, nothing's changed. Only this time, instead of cruel jokes, things get physical, and when our parents leave for their honeymoon, I find out how far Colt is willing to take this.

I thought the worst time of my life was over.

I was wrong.

This is novel is dark fiction with a little bit of romance and includes many triggers. Please reach out to the author (admin@bleedingheartpress.com) for a complete list of triggers. This can be listened to as a standalone, with no cliffhanger!

Wow, just wow!

This book was insane. The characters and story is unreal! Honestly never saw some of the things coming. The story was so sad yet happy. Must listen.

Hold on to your seat.

What an incredible story. I wasn’t expecting the plot twist. The author has a interesting mind to write this book. Wow. All I can say.

Intense and felt a little empty at end

This book was very intense. It is very much a Bully romance, but even more so than typical. I also thought a little bit empty at the end like not everything was given closure specifically with one of the brothers.

My brain needed to simmer before rating this one. And if I'm honest, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. There were parts that I liked, and parts that broke me so much that I nearly couldn't go on. I am a firm lover of the bully genre, LOVE noncon, and dark romances. But this one tested my limits. It put Truly and Untouchable to shame on my scale of uncomfortable darkness. I did figure out what was going on, so I stick with it. I needed to know how things would play out. Unfortunately, I feel like I felt more of a connection between the main characters when they weren't together, than once they finally were. So, how does it all leave me. I think I'm glad that I read it. But I'm not sure that I actually liked it.

I feel like I need to draw attention to the Author's note at the beginning. This resonated with me, like very few written words do. So, I suppose even if just for that, I am thankful that I read this book. And the writing of the story was amazing. It just wasn't the story for me.
