Tears of joy, Tears of sadness

I waited patiently for this book, At times on the edge of my seat. As someone that has far more days behind them than in front, I can only hope that the reality of the other side is as the author suggests.

One thing that I hear all too often from randdom couples is that they would die for each other. It seems that Jaysea has one upped the ante with her protagonist being, quite literally able to say "Oh? Well I had to die to find my true love" Top that.

I know I might be asking a lot here but I do sincerely hope this becomes a volume saga and not just a single title.

This book had me in a chokehold! It healed something in me that I didn’t know needed healing. Had the right amount of spice. Absolutely loved it!!

I’ve been watching the series on TikTok since it first started. I read a book when it first came out, but I’m so happy that I can listen to it, and I love the characters and the story.

Jaysea you’ve transformed funny skits on TT into something amazing incredible world building and storyline I’ve already read the book but listening to it was a whole new level. 10/10 can’t wait to see what else you write.

Jaysea knocked it out of the park. The origins of the Hellp desk and our favorite characters are written with love and care. The narrators are perfect and have exceptional chemistry with the characters they’re portraying. 10/10 Will listen again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Well plotted out

Came from the TikToks and stayed for the well typed out dialogue, it plays out very well and is very easy to get your attention drawn to it it holds your attention just as easily. The story and all of it going into depth in the explanation causing a deeper pool of feelings to and for the characters adding an extra sense of understanding to the story entirely in its own

Great writing

I have been following this storyline from the beginning. I was so excited to hear that you were writing books. This book did not disappoint and I cannot wait for the continuation. The story kept me enthralled and not wanting to stop listening.

All the feels

I know I'm biased because I watch the TT episodes religiously and am very invested in Jaysea's road to this. But there must be a reason why so many are fans. Jaysea has created this world that is familiar to so many and not alienate anyone's belief. The characters are all such sweethearts and badasses, there's a character for everyone to align with and many to fall in love with.

Specifically about the book
We get to see the backstory to Bel and Lily's relationship, their character growth and snippets of the early days of some of our beloved characters. Even in the short videos of this world, so much is conveyed and in book format, whoa. I've never been one to annotate books or have highlights, but I've found myself doing just that as I'm reading and listening along. Lines that really hit you in the feels, sentences that convey something you have never been able to put into words. This is so much more than just a book that talks about 2 people falling in love, topics are brought up and dealt with that may help those who need it heal. And even if you don't think you have anything to heal, everyone can use a good tear jerker here and there, especially when the tear jerking comes with some sort of solution, it's cathartic.

Did I mention that it's also hilarious? I've read/listen to books that would make me involuntarily smile and look like a crazy person on the street, but I never literally laughed out loud in public due because of a book, well now I have. It's the type of laugh that if I was drinking anything, anyone in front of me would've suffered.
Because the relationships among the characters are so healthy, they have a lot of banter and I live for it. Then of course there are pun and jokes, dad jokes too, if you're into those like I am, you'll be a happy camper

Because this is an audiobook review, we have to talk about the narrators. So good! Honestly! There are some narrators that basically just read the book, then you have narrators like these who can paint characters to life with their voice. Yes, I'm a sucker for a nice deep voice but in this case, it's definitely needed, after all Bel is a Prince of hell.

I'm writing very vague because I don't want to spoil anything but I implore you to give this world a try. I try to push it onto everyone I know in real life, not just the book but Jaysea's videos of Hell's Belles. I just love the world she's built, it's one of those that brings up different pantheons and weave them together into a cohesive idea. Even if you are not subscribed to any religion or not spiritual or just straight up an atheist, you can enjoy this wold because we can all agree that there are universal values that everyone believes in.
