Acerca de esta escucha

For over 30 years, Dominion of Blades has been the hottest online role-playing game in the world. Any gamer with an immersion rig can enter the world of sword and sorcery, of goblins and dragons, and they can hack and slash their way to glory. But the game is too real for some, and after an epidemic of real-life fatalities, public use of the immersion technology has been banned, causing the game to be shut down.

Jonah wakes to find himself in-game, level one, with no memory of how he arrived and no way to eject. With only two companions, trapped in a world that once hosted millions, Jonah must battle his way across a treacherous landscape, fighting virtual monsters, all too real pain, and a very human enemy in a desperate bid to survive.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Excellent story, excellent storyteller! This was one of those books that you could really get into, it was deep and detailed enough to enable me to visualize the story. I didn't want it to end. I'm not into video games so I wasn't sure if I would like this story, but I absolutely loved it! I would recommend it to everyone.

This is the best book I have read in a long time

I loved this book, I highly recommend it to anyone who likes the litRPG genre or who is into fantasy
I listened to the whole book in three days because I couldn't put it down. I started it midway through the day Monday and it is Thursday now :)

I can't wait for the second one and will for sure buy it when it comes out

Pros; great story and I feel like the writing style got better as the book progresses. I also loved the characters.

Cons; I didn't really like the start of the book, but once the story got going (maybe 20-60 mins in) I got sucked in.

Absolutely fantastic listen

Would you listen to Dominion of Blades again? Why?

again no because its not forgetable plus im not one to *** watch*** the same thing twice

What did you like best about this story?

the gore the crude language how can i go back to the fluffy dory stuff now?

What does Andrea Parsneau bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

andrea brings a lot of voices that i would do in my own head but its still gonna be all right and wall but there would have tose moment when you feel the emotion or get gose bumps

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

READ THIS BOOK OR YOU ARE FUCKED!!...? nan!? maybe not... hope i made you laff tho

Any additional comments?

is there still book of that series that is not yet in audio book or when is it gonna come out... the part 2 i mean

Shut up and take my money WHERE is the next one!

So far, this is my favorite VRMMO LitRPG that I have read. It features a lush, vibrant world full of excitement and danger. There are many different exotic creatures. Our heroes have back stories that impact the narrative. It features some great humor that continues to entertain. There is a post-apocalyptic element to it. It deftly begins to examine the idea of self-aware AI on a sliding scale, which is also interesting. It also touches on the issue of gender in a very tasteful way that does not overwhelm the story at all, which shows how LitRPG’s can uniquely address greater issues. The main thing I liked from the book was the fantastic world-building. In the words of Louis Armstrong, “What a wonderful world”!

Enter a Lush, Vibrant World!

I liked the book and the narrator, but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl. This is an earlier work and shares some DNA with that series. It lacks much of the humor that you’re probably expecting and well, it’s just not as good. Still, it’s original and imaginative with an apocalyptically dark soul you’ll recognize. Authors grow in their craft and don’t always catch lightning in a bottle first time out. The main reason I’d recommend against this book is only that it seems like the series is either on a very long hiatus or has been abandoned entirely. Also, no sassy talking cats.

the writing is weaker than his other works, the narrator is....not good. this is a series I'll let pass.

not as good as the others

Great job too, narrator!

Finally a book that combines LITRPG with queer issues. I can share my favorite genre with my transgendered child. I can't say any more because of spoilers though.

Thank you, author, for the LGBT representation.

well, it's no carl and princess donut. it's like Pablo honey as compared to the Bends by radiohead--a good start, not a classic. read carl's adventures first, but come to this one with an open mind and you will enjoy it. starting the second one now. as always, Andrea Parsneau is more than adequate but not the equal of Jeff or Nick.

good narration, interesting variation on lit rpg

If you're like me, deciding to give this book a go after loving Carl's Dungeon Adventure, it's not the same ballpark. In general there are gamelit staple mechanics, plots, characters and world but that's not the main focus. This is more of a self discovery book that takes place in a game world with a side of apocalyptic scenario going on in the background. The main character is literally given OP levels and skills with no actual need to learn to do anything or even practice because they can let the system guide their actions. On top of that, every newbie gamer mistake they make is never learned from so the dumb things done are repeated. Not a lot but if you're expecting some kinda learning curve to be gained it doesn't really occur. The plot of trapped in a game isn't new but the reason why and how to solve it is unique and interesting but feels lackluster.
