Great 2nd book. I rate it well above the first. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Wow! Give me more please

What an amazing series. This one picked up exactly where the last left off and is leading to one heck of a finale in book 3. The book is lighter than a feather on religious aspects and does no more than name some of the skills required to kill the demon/monsters with a subtle undertone, like smite. If that ruffles ones feathers, I suggest looking within.

Enjoyed the listen

I really enjoyed this book , extremely entertaining . Strong , vivid imagery .
I would definitely recommend this book to my buddies .

Good story but . . .

The cliffhanger at the end of the story did not really grab me. I really feel like this story should have gone on for a couple more chapters before the conclusion. The end of the first book had me rearing for more, but this one not so much. F-bomb alert. I think I gave this alert in the first book also, but really, the author does not need so much swearing. It does nothing for the story but lowers the quality, in my opinion.

All this authors books are just so fun

I got into this author from his book bastion which that series is phenomenal so I thought I’d give this one a try and it’s been very fun. Looking forward to the next book.

not as good as first

some of the moments felt more contrived than natural. one moment they lose all caution and get randomly super arrogant just because James upgrades a bit. they hadn't done that before and of course it went poorly. frustrating that a death occurred in a senseless and uninspiring way

Wow, just keeps getting better.

I have over 200 books in my library and by far, this book set is my favorite. It is the first time reading/listening to work from Phil Tucker, and I got to tell you, the story line is great, and Tom Taylorson just kills it as the narrator, and the over all feel just draws you right into the story as if you are actually there. Can't wait to give more of their work a try. Hope everyone enjoys these books as much as I did.

Underrated!

Blows my mind when books like HWFWM gets 5 stars (terrible book btw) and books like this go unnoticed. Awesome first two books. Cannot wait for the third in a couple days!

Awesome

It’s not often that a second book is better than the first but this book surpasses the first. It hits all the marks, action, progression, and a great story. Can’t wait for the third book.

Getting better

Mc starting to be more on his own is awesome and will make the series so much better and a lot less teen movie like.
