please hurry and get book 2 on here. this is my new favorite book 1 of any litrpg series I have in my library and I'm pushing 1000 owned novels in my collection. I can't say enough good things about this book. the mc is young and brash at times but he progresses and grows in all aspects mentally and physically. he is smart, strong, and straight forward. you really want to root for this guy. I am so happy I took a chance on this title and discovered this author. I just purchased his other novel falling with folded wings and I'm jumping into that now. great job plum parot!

Great story and narration! Hopefully, the next book will arrive soon. A lot of the F-bomb but it's part of the characters personality.

A good story. Narration was good. I liked it and I would tell others to read it.

Slow start

A slow start and the prisoner/slave theme had me wondering if I was going to finish the book. About a third of the way, maybe half, things started to pick up and I really started enjoying the story. The tyranny of the tier is a common trope, just a touch over done. I think Plum did a great job at creating a character who acts and talks quite a bit like a 17-year-old.

I liked it

I am a sucker for gladiatorial fighting. You do get the downside of that thought, the being a slave for a good part of the book. But it isn’t a pity party like some books that follow this trope do. The MC is cool with an OP class. There is a ton of fighting throughout the book.

A Great Start

I came to this series from the author’s other ones, expecting the same great writing style. I wasn’t disappointed. This story features excellent characters and a complex world that seems alive even though it isn’t heavily exposed upon. This makes sense given the characters circumstances. I look forward to the next one.

surprisingly good

so I picked this book up on a whim after having finished most books in the progression fantasy genre and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised.

this book should get more recognition as it gives all the sweet dopamine level up hits and characters are believable. The MC can be a bit childish and impulsive but thankfully not aggravatingly and it fits his character.
