Are you ready to: Feel closer and more connected to your partner? Stop having the same argument over and over? Be happier and finally make changes that stick? It’s not too late. You can reclaim your relationship and your happiness. You just need to have the right tools to finally make it happen. My goal is, above all, to provide practical, usable tools that work - not unproven ideas or pie-in-the-sky theories that sound good but do little to help you in your day-to-day life.

How we fight predicts the future of our relationships. The truth is the happiest and most successful couples fight—all the time. Conflict is human, and necessary.

Story
In an eye-opening tour of the unconscious, as contemporary psychological science has redefined it, Timothy D. Wilson introduces us to a hidden mental world of judgments, feelings, and motives that introspection may never show us. This is not your psychoanalyst's unconscious. The adaptive unconscious that empirical psychology has revealed, and that Wilson describes, is much more than a repository of primative drives and conflict-ridden memories.

Story
For most of Hailey Magee’s life, people-pleasing came so naturally to her that she didn’t even have a word for it. When somebody wanted something from her—even a stranger—she gave it, no matter how uncomfortable, exhausted, or resentful she felt inside. People-pleasing, she learned, was a coping mechanism that had kept her physically and emotionally safe in the past, but wreaked havoc on her life in the present—and she was committed to breaking the pattern once and for all.

Story
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

Now, Big Feelings addresses anyone intimidated by oversized feelings they can't predict or control.

Story
Why have history's greatest minds - from George Washington to Frederick the Great to Ralph Waldo Emerson along with today's top performers, from Super Bowl-winning football coaches to CEOs and celebrities - embraced the wisdom of the ancient Stoics? Because they realize that the most valuable wisdom is timeless and that philosophy is for living a better life, not a classroom exercise. The Daily Stoic offers a daily devotional of Stoic insights and exercises, featuring all-new translations.

A request is not a boundary
Loved the book. Made many bookmarks. One of them on 'A request is not a boundary, just saying you don't like something is not a boundary'.
I wrote down many times 'this chapter is for me...'
I feel like it was made simple in this book, can definitely recommend it.

Wonderfully helpful book!
Thank you for this book, Abby! You so gently helped me see and understand what boundaries are and why I need to pay attention to them! "Boundaries are love. Fear are walls." This is so powerful. After listening to your book, I understand that loving myself first is a boundary! That was a huge lightbulb moment for me and will change my life. Thank you!

You are doing life changing work.
Abby, you are name dropped daily in my house (usually great but sometimes "ugh abby yelled at me about this this morning on the way to work I have to do what I told myself i was going to do" 🤣 in all seriousness, I am a regular podcast listener and your work has changed the trajectory of how I will think forever. I apply your tools and research to my relationships everywhere and I am so thankful that I came upon your podcast on Spotify last summer and that you offer so much valuable teaching at no cost. i appreciate you. ❤️
