This novella of about 27,000 words takes place five years after Lydia Bennet’s elopement and the subsequent ruin of her family. When Elizabeth attempts to rescue Lydia from her life as a courtesan, she is herself mistaken as a woman of ill-repute by Mr. Darcy and his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam, leading to an amusing tangle when she gains the attention of both gentlemen. This is a sweet, low angst Regency romance with no explicit intimacy and a Christian moral. Note: This book was originally published in 2021. It has been reedited, but the story is not materially changed from the original.
