About this listen
Having brothers is detrimental to my sanity. One is safely tucked away on the mantel behind my desk, his face not quite what it should be on the urn. My twin? Sad story that. Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, and girl marries a Shifter. My twin ran away.
That leaves me to run the show and hunt down the Witches who just can't stop killing us.
We are also at war with the Shifters, who killed my oldest brother, and by order of the Gods Council, I'm not supposed to set one toe in Shifter territory. Only...
In Fire Ridge Pride, there is the most beautiful lion with black hair, an icy gaze, and a Roman nose that has never met a fist. He's sassy, sexy, and mine. Until...
My twin's actions come home to roost, leaving me with a shotgun wedding and a baby on the way. Someone decided to cancel my one chance at happiness, and here we are.
One positive. The Gods Council has changed their decision. I must find my dead brother, seek vengeance, and be Papa. And did I mention my sexy, sassy lion is also my new Archives librarian? It's a live-in position...
Dante Di Gatti, Lord Cinis, King of Amber Light Pride
This book takes place during Remi- Fire Ridge Pride. Both series are connected. Please listen to Fire Ridge Pride first.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he’s alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Except I didn't know the cute blond on the beach with the giant dog was my kid's teacher until two months later at Open House. Christian took my breath away during my vacation and introduced me to things I never knew could feel so good and be so right. I think he just might be the one who inspires me to tell the world that this NFL quarterback is bisexual and in love with a man.

The circle is always closing. In crazy times, this essential selection of the fiction and poetry of Jeannelle M. Ferreira holds out a branch of lights kindled from chosen futures and pasts always close behind, where history never confines itself to one familiar face and selkies and demons offer as much inheritance as memories, bodies, or ghosts. Intimately Jewish, integrally queer, these are tales for holding on to. They know how to remember and to change.

I’m the first one to tell you I have issues. Trust issues. Family issues. Probably a few others I haven’t discovered yet. Which is why I prefer to keep my life as simple and uncomplicated as possible. Until him. Blake McAdams barrels into my life and refuses to leave. He’s relentlessly optimistic, sexy as hell, annoyingly persistent, and…wants to be friends? Because…he thinks I’m interesting? Yeah, I’ll pass. Thanks. Only, somehow, we end up doing just that.

Story
In this first installment of The Connectorate Series, Hughes leads us through a thought-provoking, vastly evolved society where people in power are "fully connected" to a sentient quantum network. Peter O'Neil, a veteran Unlawful Intent Investigator, is assigned to the initial homicide report. His typical work involves the more mundane aspects of crime prevention in a culture where direct-to-brain interfacing provides a reliable snapshot of a person's future intent. As Pete learns the circumstances of the crime, everything starts pointing to the use of a remote avatar.

Strange things can be said of the forest that spans the border of two kingdoms long at war. An evil sorcerer has made it his dominion, or an elegant enchantress has claimed it as her domain and grants wishes to those who chance upon her, or maybe the forest is guarded by an ancient and wrathful spirit. But Katya calls the forest home, living a life of magic and charms with her partner Ivan. But a threat looms over their forest, some darkness and danger that Ivan swears to protect her from.

Wow!!! Lance brought Jae's words to life!
I've read this book a few times but this is the first time I've gotten to just sit back and listen to it. Don't tell anyone but I actually listened to it twice, hey it's fairly short and I had the time. Lance West did a fantastic job with the narration.
This is book 1 in a new companion series to the Fire Ridge Pride series called Bloodrights. These two series are interconnected and book 1 takes place alongside book 4, Remi.
The world building, as always, is out of this world. The characters have so much depth, you can tell how much thought went into the creation of each character within and across these series of books.
This is not a light fluffy listen where you can set the speed up to 1.5 to speed to the end, this book requires brain engagement. Your brain needs to be online, fully engaged and ready to dive into this amazing world the author has created.
CAUTION: I wouldn't start with this series. You really ought to start with Fire Ridge Pride series book 1, Lou. The entire Fire Ridge Pride series is in audiobook format so you don't have to wait for the release of the next book. I can't imagine this book would be enjoyable without the background of the characters that make up a big part of this story.
