About this listen

White Noise for Sleep: Sleep Sounds with over 8 Hours per Track to Ensure a Full Night’s Sleep

Many people benefit from the steady, soothing sounds of white noise. A constant frequency can help reset distractions and irritations.

Be it: A noisy neighbour, a snoring partner, insomnia, a racing brain full of thoughts, or a bustling city.

White noise will help reset the tone for focus and relaxation.

The author has created each track with over eight hours in this audiobook in mind to ensure you have full sound support during a whole night's sleep.

The three sounds have a gentle fade in and out to help to customize the volume 10 seconds after you start the sound.

This audiobook features three frequencies of white noise

  • Warm White Noise
  • Cool White Noise
  • Fan and Water White Noise

Great for relaxation, but not an eight hour sleep

I love the idea of this audiobook, and it would be a great thing to have, especially while traveling, to block out unfamiliar environments, EXCEPT it does not provide eight hours of uninterrupted white noise. It is broken into two hour segments, so it would be great for helping you relax or fall asleep, but if you want steady noise all night long to keep you from waking up, this won't provide that. So, disappointing for what I need it for. I hope maybe the author will come back with a new version that provides what this one promised - Eight hours of uninterrupted white noise. I liked the fan and water noise best, followed by the warm white noise.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Wonderful, except for the voice!

There was absolutely no need to read chapter names at the start of each track on this. Kind of negates the whole purpose of white noise for SLEEP.

My go-to for sleep.

My favourite is track 3 - Fan and Water Noise. This is my go-to for sleep and I use it on my camping trips. I find this to be the best way to isolate sound from neighbours and to shut off my brain. Recommended!

Tracks are two hours long

Narrator announces a new chapter every two hours…. This is not super helpful for sleeping.

announced chapters while trying to sleep!!

if you want someone to announce chapters 2 hours into your white noise this is the 'book" for you. what a waste. really!?! defeats the purpose to talk while trying to sleep.

Why announce each chapter???

Nothing worse in a sleep track then a voice to come on and interrupt. Each chapter is announced by a voice so you can’t listen to more than one chapter without being awoken. DUMB!!! Why???

May be worth a shot. Try for yourself.

The idea behind the white noise for sleeping is great. The execution here is nuts, however. The entire recording is broken into two hour segments, called chapters, which is fine. However, the start of each chapter contains an announcement giving the chapter number, title and part number. Every two hours, your sleep will be interrupted by author (and narrator!) Devon Blais announcing the like of "Chapter 2, Warm white noise , part 2."

Good concept, poor execution.

Addendum to review:

I received this comment from the author/narrator:

"I received your comments and I totally agree however I’ve been in touch with ACX about changing this…unfortunately it is a requirement of theirs to have an announcement every two hours as a chapter. We are not permitted to have audio longer than 120 minutes so the softest voice announcing was my only option."

So where does that leave us? Unless you're just looking to take a nap, you've still got the voice (albeit not a loud one) making the chapter announcement every two hours. Will that disturb you? You need to decide for yourself. On the plus side, Audible does allow returns if you're not satisfied, so it may be worth taking a shot. The Audible credit is certainly cheaper than buying the white sound generator.

Great for Sleeping

I thought this book was great! Excellent for falling asleep. It blocks out all the city noises. My one suggestion would be to have the person announcing the chapters whisper his part. Other than that, it was a great way to catch some shut eye.
