This mystery thriller made me laugh and cry, be courageous and shake with fear, also, feel proud and feel disappointment, but most of all it kept me guessing what was going to happen next. Kevin O'Brien knows how to paint a perfect picture with words. Narrator, Todd Haberkorn, is an outstanding reader.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. Todd Haberkorn's performance was good, but I was very distracted by his mis-pronunciation of different cities and towns in the NW (and even the Oregonian newspaper!). It's not something you would notice if you don't know the proper pronunciations, but given that the author has lived in Seattle for a very long time, I'm surprised that this recording passed muster.

Unspeakable Review

Unspeakable is the 2nd book that I have listened to by this author. The book kept me interested from the beginning to the end. I loved the characters, story, and narrator. Not only do I recommend this book but I plan to listen to it again.

Fascinating novel, well-developed.

My only complaint is that the narrator mispronounced nearly all the place-names. If one is narrating a book with specific local placenames, PLEASE learn the correct pronunciations before starting the narration! Sheesh. Put a real damper on listening to the book, which was otherwise excellent.

Great listen

This started out slow for me but I ended up loving it. It’s been awhile since I yelled at fictional characters but towards the end I was doing just that. I was surprised at the end but definitely cheered at the last epilogue.

Great story set in my area

This was a really good story, intriguing, mysterious. For once I didn’t guess the culprit in the first few chapters. I did start to suspect before it was revealed, but only about one chapter before the revelation. I loved that it was set in my area, and as a Kitsap resident I was pleased that the narrator actually pronounced the town of Poulsbo correctly (few non-locals do), and that the author name dropped a popular coffee shop (Hotshots Java), and many road names that actually exist in this area!
