About this listen

An audio original novella featuring bestselling author Dean Koontz’s compelling new heroine, Jane Hawk. From the case files of the former FBI agent before she became the nation’s most wanted fugitive - The Bone Farm details a desperate man-hunt for a serial killer before he murders again.

Katherine Haskell, a young college co-ed is on her way back to school, but she never makes it there. Instead, she becomes the latest prey of the rapist and murderer dubbed by the tabloids the “Mother Hater.” He is a twisted soul who kidnaps young girls for pleasure then discards them.

Katherine is missing, but she’s not yet dead. FBI agents Jane Hawk and her partner Gary Burkett must descend into the hell of this killer’s mind to solve the case before it is too late. The question is - will they both get out alive?

Jane Hawk deserves a better voice

The female narrator wasn’t all that good. As she got further in to the read she did get better though. I initially thought her voice was computer generated. Jane Hawk is a passionate, vibrant woman. Her voice should reflect that

Great Novelette

Great short story and a great look into Jane Hawks past. Continuity with the narrator is a plus. Very gripping.

Excellent

I loved the ending. Makes you think throughout the book. The hights are some you don't expect at all.

Driving Koontz'd

i loved this story. I listened to it while driving the kind of New Mexico detour that could land a girl in the middle of a Koontz story, which made the story even better.

Good book but....

I liked the book itself but The female Narrator is very robotic and made it hard to listen sometimes.

Thrilling

This was fast paced, not drawn out like several other books I have listened to. Good narrator.

Great story!

The story is fantastic, and it is brought to life by the readers, both of whom are amazing! Elizabeth Rodgers couldn’t have done a better job!

Good story but creepy

The story was good, but I'm going to have nightmares about this one. This story gives good closure for Jane regarding her feeling of failing her mom who was murdered when Jane was just 9. Really sets things up well for the novels.

Dean has done it again

Jane Hawk is such a bad ass in the series from Dean. This short story is great because it is before her world was forever altered. I love how you feel like you are with her during the story. More of these would be great.
