About this listen

Scorio thought victory was within his grasp.

He had bested the Final Gauntlet and overcome the treachery of Chancellor Praximar. But the Rascor Plains are full of peril, and his quest for truth has only just begun.

With his friends scattered and his reputation in tatters, Scorio must navigate a web of intrigue that stretches from the powerful House Hydra and the Fiery Shoals to the mysterious forces that govern the Plains. He will face foes, both human and inhuman, and confront the darkest secrets of his world.

Beware the fiends, for they hunger for your soul. Beware your allies, for they may break your heart. And beware Scorio, for he will stop at nothing to uncover the truth.

Amazing sequel

as always, Nick Podell kicked ass paired with the incredible character progression and satisfying, well thought out issues the MC had to overcome and rad powers. This just has me itching for the third one. If you liked the first one you know what you’re getting but with better descriptive aspects due to the scenery of hell and the traversal through it and the way the writer captures your attention and makes you want to just listen a little longer is only part of the reason this is a great book. As someone who loved the first one this is better!

Phill and Nick have done it again

I spent the last couple of days going over the first book in preparation for the second book. After I read the first one, I was hooked, and reading the second one has done the same thing. It left me wanting for more. The roller coaster of emotions left their marks on my igneous heart

Overall, is a great second part

Like the last book, there is a lot of parts that allow for needless dialogue/information.

But overall, once you muster through the parts of this book that drag on for a bit too long, the book is just as good as the first. Which is sometimes hard to repeat.

The growth and development of the characters is great.

But the fact some faith was left in some… questionable characters does break the story a bit at the end.

Overall, a good book, that is definitely worth the credit.

Slow start, hard finish

Honestly with the slow start I kept worrying that nothing would happen. At first I worried the whole book would be the 10 day trip through the plains..its not.

There is a lot that happens after the mid climax and a lot gets settled by the end.

Honestly this is my favorite series by the author and with they would focus more on this one then their other series .

My only dislike is how soft the MC is he tends to use his fist and go for knock outs instead of his claws to kill. It takes ALOT to make him kill. Unlike Naomi who will use her tail to kill and enemy right away. She will slaughter tens of people if they get in her way. I know the MC is supposed to he a calming influence on her but I wish it was the other way around. That Naomi would be a grinding stone for him to learn to be more ruthless and lethal to his enemies.

Another amazing book

Phil Tucker is an exceptional writer. I have only read the Immortal Great Souls series but after these two books, I will be purchasing all of his other titles. This story does not disappoint from start to finish.
