About this listen

At midnight, one of them is dead. By morning, all of them are suspects.

It's the party to end all parties . . . but not everyone is here to celebrate.

On New Year's Eve, Rhys Lloyd has a house full of guests. His vacation homes on Mirror Lake are a success, and he's generously invited the village to drink champagne with their wealthy new neighbors.

But by midnight, Rhys will be floating dead in the freezing waters of the lake.

On New Year's Day, Ffion Morgan has a village full of suspects. The tiny community is her home, so the suspects are her neighbors, friends and family—and Ffion has her own secrets to protect.

With a lie uncovered at every turn, soon the question isn't who wanted Rhys dead . . . but who finally killed him.

In a village with this many secrets, murder is just the beginning.

Hard to follow. I think it was the accent. Didn’t love it. It was just okay.

A bit confusing

The book was ok, I finish it but it dragged and seemed slow. Not much of a mystery

Just ok, seemed long

I really enjoyed this book. I have read other' reviews complaining about the narrator's accent; I was able to get used to it pretty quickly and there were only a very few times they actually spoke Welsh in the book, which they then explained. Other reviews also mention too much detail with the characters, but I actually really enjoyed that, it kept it interesting and made me feel like I got to know all of the people/suspects of The Shore. the details on the various characters were essential to the way this story was written. The story kept me guessing until the end. I'd think I figured out the murderer, then something new would come up. I was surprised by the final result. I'd recommend this book!

Great Read

I found this entertaining and done well; but it was drawn out a little more than I like. The ending was definitely surprising and not expected.

It was often too hard to understand the words .
As a result I felt I missed important parts of the story.

This book was easy to get into and painted very vivid imagery in my mind as the narrator performed. I am now keeping any eye out for the next book in the series.

This book has lots of characters and lots of connections between and among all those characters. I liked the story and I like the author. I read her book HOSTAGE and enjoyed that as well.

Pay Attention!

Classic kind of whodunit (lots of interesting suspects who all have a great reason to hate the guy who was murdered) beautifully executed by both author and reader. Smartly written with twists I did not see coming, and I read a lot of mysteries. Great central characters that I look forward to spending more time with. Big thumbs up.

Very very good
