About this listen

Six friends. One college reunion. One unsolved murder.

Ten years after graduation, Jessica Miller has planned her triumphant return to her Southern, elite Duquette University, down to the envious whispers that are sure to follow in her wake. Everyone is going to see the girl she wants them to see - confident, beautiful, indifferent. Not the girl she was when she left campus, back when Heather Shelby's murder fractured everything, including the tight bond linking the six friends she'd been closest to since freshman year.

But not everyone is ready to move on. Not everyone left Duquette 10 years ago, and not everyone can let Heather's murder go unsolved. Someone is determined to trap the real killer, to make the guilty pay. When the six friends are reunited, they will be forced to confront what happened that night - and the years' worth of secrets each of them would do anything to keep hidden.

Told in racing dual timelines, with a dark campus setting and a darker look at friendship, love, obsession, and ambition, In My Dreams I Hold a Knife is an addictive, propulsive story.

This Psychological mystery is a big win! I loved this book. In the beginning, it read more like a YA novel but the sinister and brutal murder and revenge quickly make it so much better than that. I love the little twists throughout, the unveiling of the truth- little by little. I highly recommend this novel!

I didn’t love the main character in the beginning but I guess you’re not supposed to. This book was so good!

i normally don't leave reviews but I HAD to for this book! oh my goodness. it was a little slow in the beginning as Jess always seemed to be whining about her desire for perfection and to be admired by everyone she meets but man oh man!! this was such a good listen. the narrator was on point with her inflections and performance. the twists keep coming until the very end!!

so Many twists!!

I recommend this book to anyone who went to high school and had a close group of friends. Just when you think you can predict what happens next, you’re surprised. This author is a talented story teller and I look forward to reading her next novel.

I was not pleased or impressed with this book. Does not live up to its hype.

Too much hopping around for a boring ending

No big twist. Ending was 1/5. Performance was mediocre. I wish we could standardize having male narrators for male characters and female narrators for female characters. Because narrators who try to do both sound ridiculous and never have enough differentiation between the opposite sex characters to tell who is who in a back and forth conversation which makes the book hard to follow.

Boring
