About this listen

They took six years of his life....

He plans to take the rest of theirs.

In one near-fatal moment, Edward Dalton’s future turns from medical school and the girl of his dreams to fighting for survival.

Intentionally run off the road and left for dead, Edward finds himself deep in the Appalachian Mountains, battling wildlife and starvation. When survival looks doubtful, he is ready to finish what his enemies started: end his life.

But then a discovery gives him the strength to continue—and the means to exact revenge. After six years, Edward emerges from his wilderness isolation with a single thought: Make them suffer like I have.

As he methodically plots his revenge, Edward discovers his rivals have lived charmed lives at the expense of others. To pay them back, he must navigate a world of corrupt politicians, sex traffickers, and murderers.

But when unsuspecting victims become entangled in the web of crime and revenge, can he sacrifice years of plotting—and his entire life purpose—to protect the innocent?

A modern-day twist on The Count of Monte Cristo, this thriller shows just how awry the best-laid traps can go.

A great Knights read!

The story kept me listening and listening, wanting to know the final outcome of the lives of all involved! The Character development was fantastic, the story was throughly thought through and ended perfect! Highly recommend, it’s full of suspense, drama, action and on audiobook, the writer himself does a awesome job of reading it and bringing the characters to life!

you know it's good when...

You know it's good when it replaces your music before and after work. The villains were well designed so you loathe them as much as Eddie, if not more. Well done and hurry up with the next book please.

Best book I've listened to in a long time!

I loved it! The story was great. The details and imagery was amazing. Listening to the book I felt like I was right there watching everything unfold. It was amazing. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to go on a thrilling adventure. I think I just found my new favorite author. I hope writes more books, so I can continue going on new adventures.

A fun time!

So, I was very excited to get my hands on the audiobook for this book. Read of course by the lovely author himself. Now, I will admit I am a bit biased but I will try to keep this review partial and ambiguous as to not spoil the story. This book was a great companion for my long days of doing paperwork at the office. The story as a whole felt well thought out. Now I admit, I did think there was a bit of a lull in the middle, though, not because of the writing but my want to see the outcome. So the slow burn in the middle was well paid off by the climax of the story. I fully admit to embarrassingly gasping and laughing out loud through the book. If you'd like to support a new author and reading a book that feels like it really pays off in the end, then this is a book for you! 100% would recommend and read again!

What a ride! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved listening to this book. I'm so glad it played out the way it did. I really was rooting for the main character from the beginning. The way he overcame all that was thrown at him, his patience, the way he showed grace, the battles he faced within himself, the way it all comes together. All of it was brilliant. I loved it. great work.

Made myself finish it…

Ridiculous. The high school protagonist can’t find his way out of a paper bag, then becomes a billionaire doctor, inventor, in 5 years.

Silly forays into many fanciful mansions, cars, and ships that have no bearing on the story.

Biggest disappointment was he missed curing cancer and ending world hunger. That would be in line with everything else.
