grabs you and never let's go

Loved this book. it was filled with just the right combination of history, fantasy, action and religion. Absolutely can't wait for the next installment.

Excellent BOOK !!!!!

Wow , fantastic story that gripped me from sentence one. I put this as one of my favorites and I am longing forward for book 2 and more, hope this is a 30 book series!!! RC Bray as always made this book come alive and I think its one of his best!

Unexpectedly good, but…

Got a little distracted at times when talking about religion, honestly I couldn’t see how characters or lore out of the Old Testament would somehow be intertwined with Christ.

Still, it wasn’t too preachy and a good story

Bray, you are the man of a thousand characters with a smokey grandeur. So glad it was you narrating this biblical novel of battles and love lost. Seriously, I need another ASAP.

I didn't want to like it as much as I did

It seemed a little cheesy at first but I actually got to enjoying this book and found it surprisingly entertaining.

pleasantly surprised! very refreshing read!

the magic system in this world is refreshingly new. Even though it has religious overtones it is not overdone at all. it didn't feel like an effort at conversion and was extremely fast-paced and interesting. can't wait to read the next one's!

What a great find!

I am only giving this 4 starts because people sometime don't believe 5 stare, but this book is a 5+ every day. The whole concept of this book is absolutely fantastic! The characters and are real and easy to like or dislike. The plot is not predictable but easily believable. I am hoping there is another book following this. If you are like me and can't seem to find a good book, then this one is for you. I cannot recommend enough.

A good start

I listened to the book 3 times before this review. It has some pretty grizzly scenes with lots of vivid descriptions which might bother more sensitive readers. No sex or bad language which is amazing in today's culture. Mr. Bray performance is outstanding as always. I look forward to the next book expectantly.

great new series

basically this is good Vs evil, God Vs Satan. the details and characters are interesting and the writing makes it easy to care about them and what happens next. not overly religious but clearly Christian.
