About this listen

If you love mysteries with action, suspense and a touch of humor and romance, then the David Wolf series is for you.

Foreign Deceit

Sergeant David Wolf of the Sluice County SD headquartered in the ski resort town of Rocky Points, Colorado, receives word that his brother has committed suicide in the Alps of Italy.

The Silversmith

Deputy Sergeant David Wolf has been waiting sixteen years for today's opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his late father and become Sheriff of the Sluice County SD, headquartered in the small ski resort town of Rocky Points, Colorado. What he's offered, however, isn't quite what he's expecting. And for Wolf, refusing turns out to be harder, and much deadlier, than he could have anticipated.

Alive and Killing

Just for a day, Colorado Sheriff David Wolf trades slogging through murky meltwaters and even murkier small-town politics for an overnight camping trip in the wilderness with his son.

But when a man with fresh burns turns up on their trail, falling from the heavy load in his backpack and running wild from something, Wolf suspects his father-son camping trip may have just taken a turn for the worse.

Deadly Conditions

The small town of Rocky Points, Colorado has just been hit with an epic snowstorm. When the snow removal process uncovers a dead body — a young woman brutally murdered and clearly marked with some sort of cryptic message — Sheriff David Wolf and his deputies are left scrambling to find a killer before he strikes again.

I really enjoyed the series. There were a few loose ends and some procedural and issues with proper nomenclature, but it was a well written series.

The author seems to be very fixated on eyes.. something people seldom take note of unless they are red or injured. His character (Wolf) seems to make a special and detailed note of everyone's eyes. Odd and a bit creepy.

Also, except for 1 or 2 women in the 4 books, the majority of the women are either drop-dead gorgeous or leathery hags.. no "normal" women in his world, apparently. Just the two extremes.

Reminiscent of Longmire

This series has a great story line. Very engaging. Excellent narrator once you get past his tendency to raise his tone as if in inquiry.

Lots of Longmire parallels

I have to be honest here I am 35 years old and it has always been very hard for me to get into a book and it’s hard for me to read books because I have to go back and reread what I read a couple times to grasp what I was reading, because I just simply was not interested in the story. I decided to give, these books a try and I absolutely fell in love with them all of them the whole David Wolfe series. I am now finishing book 4 and just found out that there is three more books and I am so excited to read them. Thank you for writing these Mr. Jeff Carson, you are as I said, simply amazing!!!

Simply Amazing!!

This series isn’t breaking any literary ground, but it is entertaining and easy listening. Sure there’s more clichés than you can shake a stick at but the stories stick with you and they drive you back for more. The fact that I got four books for one credit definitely influenced my decision to download. After finishing this series I went on to purchase more.
There are many elements T o the characters that are just unbelievable. Believability aside the stories are all pretty good. Every so often (often) you’ll come across a cringe worthy cliché or exchange between characters but otherwise the story flows really well.
The narrator does a good job.

Brain candy

I loved all four of the books, and they definitely improved from book one. The author’s strength is with Wolf’s hometown and the small town politics. Great blend of professional and personal plots.

Simply Awesome
