Publisher's summary

The gorgeous CEO of Brewer Air is my boss and, thanks to a bet, my new husband for six months.

Why? Because I begged.

I have a grandmother to support, a stack of bills higher than my five-foot frame, and as a cherry on top, I need to find a new place to live. Soon.

Sure, Jason Brewer’s bright green eyes and chiseled jawline steal my breath. His smirk makes me weak. The former military hero’s protective nature is as sexy as watching him control a boardroom or fly a plane. But none of that matters. I’m desperate—not foolish. I know forever-level commitments aren’t real. This is simply a business transaction with a billionaire.

It’s too bad we didn’t consider all contingencies.

Our first kiss was to seal the deal. The second was in front of an Elvis impersonator. The third kiss led to a honeymoon that was so hot it burned into my memory.

I tell myself it’s okay because there’s an arrangement in place. It’s a—very—enjoyable means to a much-needed end. There’s nothing to worry about.

Except there is …

Jason is determined to prove that we could be more. When he proposes a new arrangement, it changes everything in ways I never saw coming.

From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Adriana Locke comes a new age-gap workplace romance featuring a former military hero who falls first and hard for his heroine. You will swoon over this spicy standalone romance.

A Swoon Worthy Arrangement! Great Story & Listen🎧

Adriana Locke pens another fabulous romance novel, putting her own unique spin on the age-gap workplace, fake relationship trope, and I loved everything about it. The characters are the stars of this book and Locke definitely creates some of the best, and they are always easy to relate to and connect with. This second book of the “Brewer Family” series is Jason Brewer and Chloe Goodman’s story. A bee stung a seven-year-old Chloe while playing ball with Tate and Tate’s older brother Jason came to her rescue, becoming her hero and when she developed a crush on him then. Years later, Jason, the CEO of Brewer Air, hired her as his executive assistant. Chloe is a riot, while Jason is more on the serious side, but they work well together and have an effortless rapport. Chloe takes care of her grandmother and, despite a well-paying job, she has troubles with finances and making ends meet. Jason’s brother break his chops about closing in on 40 years old with no prospects to settle down with, so they nudge him with a bet on whether he will get married and that marriage would last six months. Chloe’s hardships get worse and when she hears about the bet, she realizes this may be the answer to her financial woes and steps up to say that she and Jason are getting married. Chloe, who does not believe in forever love, is happy with the six-month time frame and she thought Jason felt the same about forever love and relationships, but does he really? I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out with a perfect balance of drama, charming humor and witty dialogue, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Adriana Locke, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride. I am looking forward to what comes next for the Brewer family

🎧📚🎧   And for the wonderful audiobook narration, Amy McFadden and Sebastian York did a fabulous job bringing these characters and story to life and their portrayal of each character was perfection, with McFadden shining in her role as Chloe and York as the swoon worthy Jason. Each grasping every aspect of their characters’ personality, McFadden handled Chloe’s wit like a natural, as well as all her other traits, and York did the same in Jason’s role. Both were just as amazing performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Sweet and swoony listen!

Another deliciously sweet and spicy treat from Adriana Locke! And one of my favorite tropes- marriage of convenience! The family dynamics, the endearing characters, the heartfelt moments, charming chemistry, and just all around feel good magic.

Jason has a lot on his shoulders with his business, and with his family. He's a broody, grumpy billionaire, but he lovingly takes care of those he cares about. Turns out that includes his infatuated assistant and friend Chloe, who has a secret crush on him and also needs his help...his FAKE MARRIAGE help. And Jason is surprisingly all in because he's also had feelings for her too- he just always thought he wasn't the right guy for her....she's bright and young and deserves more than him. But a little bit with his brothers and Chloe's family crisis is the perfect opportunity to pretend...and maybe convince her they are more.

I loved Jason- he's tough and alpha and a shrewd business man, but he's also generous and loving and super protective of those he cares about. He's dreamy in the best way- and the way he cares for Chloe is so sweet. And I loved how Chloe had him falling so hard, even though she never knew it. Chloe is so charming- sweet but funny. She's had real heavy responsibilities with her family, often struggling in silence. She has been hesitant to ask for help because she doesn't want to burden others, and I related SO much to that. Even her friends, like Jason, who could help her.

Their chemistry is really sweet but also spicy. As always, we have some great banter and heat. But I loved that these two start in a place of respectful friendship and admiration. The friends to lovers vibes blossomed so beautifully and the lines blur, and as Jason wants to prove this is REAL.

The audio was so well narrated. Sebastian York is an all time fav and brought all the great growly and sweet parts to Jason, and I really enjoyed Amy McFadden's bright and fun but also vulnerable depiction of Chloe. It's a fast and charming listen, and I'm loving the magic Brewer family world!

-billionaire romance
-family ensemble
-boss x employee
-age gap
-fake marriage
-grumpy sunshine/opposites attract

Chloe and Jason so good together!

Adriana Locke’s The Arrangement (Brewer Family Series, Book 2) is narrated by Amy McFadden(Chloe) and Sebastian York(Jason). These two do a great job in bringing Chloe and Jason to life. Amy McFadden does a great job with Chloe’s character. This is the first time I’ve listened to this narrator. Look forward to listening to her again in the future. Sebastian York is one of my all-time favorite male narrators. His voice is so smooth, rich, and down-right s*xy. I enjoyed the writing style of this author. Her characters are real and believable. Between-the-sheets scenes are well written as well and a bit spicy. Recommend it!

Great narration!

4.5 stars

The Arrangement is book #2 in the Brewer Family series. It is a dual POV, billionaire, age gap, friends to lovers, boss/employee, marriage of convenience romance.

Chloe is Jason Brewer’s Executive Assistant at Brewer Air. They have an innocent flirtation between them, but nothing more. Not that he doesn’t want more. He does. Chloe barely has time to do anything besides work and take care of her grandmother.

Jason’s brothers bet him that he won’t get married and stay married for six months. When Chloe learns of the bet she knows this could really help her and her grandmother. I love that she took it upon herself to say she would marry Jason. How can he say no when she is everything he has ever wanted? How can he convince her in staying forever?

I listened to the audio narrated perfectly by Amy McFadden and Sebastian York. Amy McFadden is a new to me narrator and I really enjoyed her narration. She fit Chloe perfectly.

Thank you to Valentine PR and the author for the #gifted audio. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Entertaining

I couldn’t wait to jump into The Arrangement which is Jason Brewer and his executive assistant Chloe’s story.

As expected this was a well written, entertaining and passionate story that ticked all the boxes for me.

From the first chapter Ms. Locke wove a story that I couldn’t put down. The heat between them was intense, their banter witty. The fact that Jason is a bit of a grump and that Chloe is the the light in his life was an added bonus.

When they marry to win a bet, complications arise as feelings come to the surface.

The narration by Amy Mc Fadden and Sebastian York brought the characters to life for me. Their voices were easy to listen too and they brought all the passion, drama, romance and humour to their performances. I really felt Sebastian was spot on as Jason.

A sweet, swoony, spicy read!

4.5⭐️ // 3🌶️

This one was super sweet and swoony. I really enjoyed the friendship/working relationship Jason and Chloe had before their marriage of convenience. It really benefited them. Chloe is full of pride and is understandably afraid of letting anyone in. I was not expecting to get emotional with this one, but when she and her Mimi spoke about when Chloe’s mom passed away years ago, I couldn’t help but be teary eyed (that’s as close to crying as I get with books 😅).

This is a standalone in an interconnected series. These characters are also connected to at least two other series by this author. I’ve only read The Proposal, which is book 1 in this Brewer Brothers series. She does a good job of laying out who people are from the other books. There is something major that happened in The Proposal with a side character, that affects some things happening in this book too.

*I was given the audiobook for an ALC. It was a fun, quick listen. The narrators did a good job with the dual narration and supporting character voices as well.*

Loved Jason and Chloe

I was provided an audio ARC of this book via the author, all opinions are my own.

The narrators were excellent. They did a great job bringing Jason and Chloe to life. They brought the emotion and banter to the forefront and I couldn't put the audiobook down.

This reads as a complete standalone, but it does mention other characters that we have met previously in earlier books. It isn't necessary to read those prior to reading this, however if you want to get to know everyone and get the full backstory about what happened with Jason's dad, you will want to read Foxx and Bianca's book Flame. We first meet Renn and Blakely in the Proposal, but again it isn't necessary to read either of those to understand the plot of this book.

This follows Jason, a pilot, former member of military special forces, and current CEO of Brewer Air. He is capable, charming and handsome. It is no wonder his assistant Chloe has had a crush on him for most of her life. They grew up together and now work together. Chloe is a great assistant, but she is struggling to make ends meet as she works as Jason's assistant and tries to take care of her ailing grandmother.

Jason and his brothers are always competing and making bets, so when a bet regarding relationships and marriage is on the table, it might just be a way for Chloe to dig her way out of her financial hole and for Jason to win a bet with his brothers. It also doesn't hurt that Jason and Chloe and scratch that itch that they both feel when it comes to the attraction that they both feel. I loved how Jason and Chloe complimented each other. They both like taking care of the people they love in different ways. Chloe isn't used to being taken care of, but Jason is determined to spoil her and make sure she and her grandmother are cared for in the hopes that their marriage of convenience becomes a marriage of permanence.

This is a fast paced read, and I really enjoyed getting to know Jason and Chloe. I'm also a sucker for a great grandparent character. If you like Adriana's other family series, this is fun one and I look forward to reading about the other Brewer siblings.

Super fun, quick story.

This book was such a fun, quick listen. I loved the story between Jason and Chloe and how he swoops in to be just the knight she needs. I also have to rave about her grandma, who was absolutely hysterical. This book has me hooked on this series now and I can't wait to see more from the Brewer Family. The audiobook was so well done and I really enjoyed the dual narration by Sebastian York and Amy McFadden.

favorite Brewer!

This is officially book 2 in the Brewer Family series.

Jason Brewer might be my favorite Brewer. We met him before though if you've read Flame. That book is about Foxx Carmichael and Bianca Brewer. Totally recommend that one too!

Chloe Goodman is executive assistant for Jason Brewer. He is her boss, but he's a friend who's she has known for years. She also has a serious crush on him. Her biggest problem though is her finances, or lack of them. Taking care of her mother and now her grandmother cost a great deal and she is scraping by even with a well paid job.

Chloe overhears a bet between Jason and his brothers and decides to present herself as an option. She could handle being up close and personal with Jason. Well buckle up and hang on because Jason is determined to prove he's more than a bet or an arrangement, he is a keeper!

I read this book and then I listened to the audio because Sebastian York is one of my favorite narrators! He did not disappoint, he brings Jason to life!

I loved the story and felt the narration was well done!
