About this listen

USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke delivers a “sweet and steamy!” romance between a wealthy mogul and the struggling single mother that captures his attention … and his heart.

Alison Baker is over love. Relationships are great. But peace? That’s priceless. The only way to get and keep a calm existence is to stay away from men. This is especially true for wealthy, charming, powerful men like her ex-husband. Then she meets Barrett Landry. He looks dapper standing in front of her in a suit, taking a glass of champagne off her serving tray. He pushes but she pulls. He asks questions. She tries desperately not to answer.

But Barrett isn’t one to be refused, and he won’t be easily convinced to let the beautiful, sweet woman go without a fight—especially when he falls in love with her son too. It isn’t that easy. When their worlds collide, the fallout changes everything. Because everything comes at a cost and sometimes, even for love, it’s a price too steep to pay.

Good start to the Landry series

I adored this book. I have already fallen for the Landry family. This was a great start to this series. I really liked Alison. The things she went through were tough and being with Barrett brought those bad memories and fears to the surface with him being in the limelight. She was a good mom to her son. I really liked her with Barrett and how his family immediately brought her into their close knit family. I really enjoyed the story and love Adriana Locke's writing.

I really adored Wen Ross. I love her voice. I will listen to every book she narrates because her voice is just so awesome to listen to. She really knows how to encompass the character she's portraying. I also liked Kai Kennicott as Barrett. His voice was very nice and hot.

Barrett and Allison

Barrett Landry, gorgeous and Savannahs Mayor and well known playboy, gets knocked down a peg or two by Allison a waitress when she is not impressed or falls to her knees to be one of his conquests. He's not used to women turning him down, but he can't help but chase her. Problem is he's also running for Governor and dealing with all the pressures that comes with it. Allison been in the political eye with her ex and wants nothing to do with that after being raked through the coals with his deception. She could also be a detriment to his campaign. Listen to the issues and people who don't want them together as they both try to get through all of it and keep their relationship intact to get there HEA

My Two Pennies

No second thoughts ever. I was totally voting for Landry from the start the way he was with Alison. I loved everything about this book we were right there with Barrett as he was going through the process for running for Governor, and Alison was trying to stay out of the spotlight this time round. The whole Landry family were the family you wanted for yourself, all so welcoming and caring. Just like most stories there were some rough patches but to see how they get through it just put a smile on my face. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Good story

I actually really liked this story and I love duet narration. It just sometimes they would laugh when it said in the story and then not sigh or moan which never made sense to me. The accents were also a little overdone. But some super hot sex scenes. Some of the best. I loved the politics of it all and taking a new spin on the story. I just sometimes hate that in most of these stories they girl has to be poor and barely scraping by. I sometimes want them to both be successful. I will read more of these books. I really love the family dynamic.

My Thoughts on Sway

Every time I read another book by Adriana Locke I feel so much. Anger at myself that I haven't made time to read the story and all her other books sooner. The very strong desire to binge read and listen to everything she's written. And of course, most importantly, the love for what I just experienced.

Sway is the first book in the Landry series and now I'm officially hooked. I want to read them all and get to know each member of this wonderful family better. Barrett was great. He was an unapologetic "lover of women" until he met Allison. They were two people with different goals in life who met unexpectedly and changed each other's lives. It was such a sweet, passionate, funny, and emotional journey. But it made for an amazing story.

I had the pleasure of listening to this story as I read and it was preformed by two of my favorite narrators. Kai and Wen are fantastic. I would buy a new story just for them alone because I know I'm going to get a great performance. They are two prime examples of why I love audiobooks. They really being the story to life. This is a must listen kind of book.

Politics and Grapes ... Not Just for the Romans!

Whoa, after that grape scene I needed a dry pair. This is the beginning of what seems to be another fantabulous series by this magnificent trio -- Adriana Locke writing the words that Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross just bring to life. I'm in love with the Landrys and it's going to be great getting to know which brother I like best. It will be hard to top Barrett cause he has passion and commitment on lock down -- what's more swoon worthy than that.

Adrana Locke is one of my favorite authors and I have listened to all of her available audio books and I am anxiously awaiting the next installment of the Landry family.

Absolutely worth the credit.
