An emotional read

This book had me emotional at every turn. I don't cry often when I read books, and this one got me good. I fell in love with all of the characters. Marriage in trouble books are some of my favorite. I love seeing the couple going through this change and trying to figure out how to handle what life throws at them. Ty and Elin had a lot going on. From Ty's accident in the mine to their struggles with having children. I felt their pain when they held back their feelings. I connected with it.

Adriana made each character feel so real. It was like I knew them and they were my friends too. Even the side characters I felt connected to. I love that about her writing, and this book was no different. There were times I wanted to sit down with both Ty and Elin and smack some sense into them! Which is something I love in books. It really shows you their flaws as real people have, and these characters have so many, but its what makes the book so good.

This was the first time I've listened to Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield. Emma stole the show for me. When things went wrong, she took the emotion to a whole new level, and I felt Elin's pain through her voice. I liked Lance as well, especially towards the end. I felt like he really brought the fear of what was happening to life.

If you love a book, that will make you smile and cry all at the same time. This one is perfect.

Beautiful second chance

Written In the Scars was a highly emotional and heartbreaking story of a marriage in trouble that touched my heart deeply. Ty and Elin were two people who were desperately in love with each other but life and circumstances had beaten them down and had them turning against each other. This realistic and heartwrenching story will have you feeling EVERYTHING as you watch these two navigate their feelings.

Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield voiced this emotional title and I enjoyed their narration. Emma’s was great as Elin as she dealt with all her fears, insecurities, grief and conflicting feelings surrounding her marriage. Lance was perfection as Ty as he dealt with the pain he had caused and his fight to put his marriage back together again. They helped me get lost in this story and made me feel every emotion.

Both Ty and Elin were struggling with their feelings and had trouble communicating with each other. They had been broken down so completely that they had trouble seeing the light and they just made my heart hurt for them. When they were finally putting the pieces back together, a tragic event rocks their foundation even more. This gripping, compelling and emotional story will tug at your heartstrings and make you realize that you have to fight for love every day in order to keep it.

Loved it

Written in the Scars is such a beautiful, heartbreaking and emotional story. This is a marriage in trouble, second chance and high school sweethearts romance. Elin and Ty have been having trouble in their marriage and after a work accident and some personal issues Ty picks up and leaves. To see the pain and hurt Ty and Elin were going through was truly heartbreaking. I loved how they slowly found their way back to each other. Ty does everything to make sure he gets his wife back and I loved every freaking moment of it.

I loved the side characters and I truly got the feeling of being in the presence of family and unconditional love. The last 20% omg was heartbreaking and very emotional.

The audio was AMAZING!! Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield did such a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. I highly recommend listening.

Beautiful.

I really loved this story. It had me in all my emotions. I have never read a book before where the MMC is a coal miner. It made the story more interesting and made it seem real. As well as the struggles all the characters were going through in the book. Adriana, you've made me happy and heartbroken at the same time. I'll never forget this book. It will definitely be a top audio for me in 2024. Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield narrated. They did a great job. Please go listen to this audiobook.

Emotional and amazing read!

This book will rip you apart, put you back together, and then take you right back through the cycle. You will feel Elin’s love but also her anger, pain, and fear. Emma did an outstanding job narrating this book and making you feel every emotion the characters were feeling. I had a hard time at first with Lance as Ty. He did a great job portraying the characters and his intensity was perfect towards the end of the book. This book is worth reading and deserves way more than five stars.

Ty realizes the mistakes he’s made and his determination to correct them is unwavering. Ty and Elin’s story is of love, loss, strength, and redemption. Theirs is a relationship that gets tested more than once. Their love was never in question but the obstacles they faced can make or break a relationship.

Adriana Locke writes characters in a way that gets you invested in them whether they are the main characters, side characters, or cameos. This book in particular has one of the most amazing side characters that sticks with you and captures your heart. Have tissues nearby because you’ll need them!

Emotional roller coaster with wonderful narration

If you love emotional roller coasters that tear you apart and then put you back together again this is the listen for you. I cried my eyes out while listening to Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield bringing this story and the characters to life but what made this a very special listen was that I couldn’t see how Written in Scars was going to end until I listened to the final few pages.
Ty and Elin Whitt thought they had the dream and that their marriage was forever but life and fate had other plans. Broken hearts and a broken relationship has this couple going their seperate ways until Ty comes back wanting to rebuild the life they once had. But will Elin give him another chance………
This is a heartbreaking journey, it’s beautifully written with wonderful characters, the narration is just perfect. I loved everything about this emotional roller coaster and I’m sure you will too. Adriana Locke has given me a book that has stayed with me long after the final page was listened too.

Emotional second chance!

It has been 3 years since I first read this book and it is no less emotionally charged. Maybe even moreso with the narration by Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield. Elin and Ty Whitt love each other, but sometimes love isn't enough. They were at their lowest of lows. Elin has had miscarriages that have dimmed the hope of having a family. Ty's injury has left him in pain. Ty thought going away would help things, but it only made matters worse. He is determined to win Elin back, but she isn't going to make it easy for him. Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield brought Elin and Ty to life. I could feel their turmoil, their love, their frustrations. These narrators were the perfect fit for Elin and Ty.

Heartbreaking and Beautiful!

Locke’s Best Book To-Date IMO
I…oh my…I feel like I’m speechless, and yet I have so much to say. Adriana Locke’s ”Written in the Scars” broke me. Like straight up, glued to my Kindle, ugly crying, used an entire box of tissues kind of broke me. Ty and Elin’s story is sweet, sultry, and absolutely heartbreaking, but the side plots grab you just as hard. Locke gives us an insanely good plot, relatable and beautifully flawed characters, and a whole lot of heat. Audio performances by Lance Greenfield and Emma Wilder only make it better. The raw emotion in their narration grabs you and simply won’t let go. Absolutely phenomenal story to read and to listen to!
