I bought the whole series.

Quincy is a fun character and the dialogue is very enjoyable. found myself laughing out loud often. some stuff does get repeated multiple times (like descriptions, some jokes, and "I'm Quincy Motherfucking Harker!"). the books are still very enjoyable and I do appreciate how well Hartness describes a scene and the enemies.

Loved it!

This was a fun and fantastic story except I didn't like the ending. ! Can't wait for the next series.

Don’t like the ending

Quincy is a great character and all the other characters also interesting. However you can tell that the author is preparing for Quincy to go it alone in the next books and bad as he is, Quincy just isn’t as great without all the other in the gang.

I physically burst into laughter on multiple occasions and wait eagerly for some form of continuation.

These books will draw you in! You have no choice but to get involved in the story, there is excitement, sadness, and comedy. Yes there is some foul language so I had to remember not to listen around my grandchildren LOL. The characters are excellent!

Archangels, a unicorn, and Quincy MF-ing Harker

If you’re new to Quincy Harker, I recommend you first get the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter Omnibus. It will help with the backstories and characters. Plus, that omnibus is a whopping twelve novellas and 3 books representing Years 1, 2, 3 in the series. So, essentially three books and 40hrs for 1 credit. Worth it!

That omnibus will also explain why part-vampire, and total wise-ass, Quincy MF-ing Harker started down the path of restoring Angel Glory’s wings and ended up stumbling upon Lucifer’s plan to get back into heaven using archangel Uriel. To thwart Lucifer, Quincy and his friends need to locate the rest of the missing archangels and their instruments. But getting the band back together becomes challenging as the demon world joins the hunt.

This book, Salvation, is basically the conclusion to the omnibus, and consists of another four novellas, or Year 4. Why leave the final book out of the omnibus? I have no idea. But, this book’s four novellas provide a fun, if profane, ride and an end to the Lucifer/Glory arc.

1st novella: Gabby Van Helsing, descendant of The Van Helsing, gets diverted from bounty hunting to find one of the archangels in St. Louis. What Gabby lacks in magic or super human abilities, she makes up for with her attitude and her mouth. Yep, the reason she butts heads with Quincy Harker is they are two peas in a MF-ing pod. This was my favorite of the four novellas, full of Buffy-esque snark and a great new character in the demon Faust. We also meet Homeland Agent Pravesh. I love that this book has more than one token kickass female... and they interact with each other instead of merely existing to be love interests.

2nd: Quincy heads to California to avenge an old friend, which leads to a vampire vs. were-pack confrontation that’s way funnier and better than Twilight. Quincy also runs into archangel Azriel at a swanky party run by a geek cowboy with a magical tree, because the universe has a really warped sense of humor.

3rd: Quincy and fiancée Rebecca Gayle Flynn head to New York, on the trail of another archangel. On the way, we meet Sister Lucia, a tarot card reading firecracker, dive into an underground magical Fight Club, and, oh boy, meet Quincy’s ex, Cathy, an ice fairy with green hair, combat boots, and a whole lotta rage.

4th: Quincy goes to Hell. Literally. I found the final chapter a bit of a let down. First, there’s the fact that most of the Scooby Gang (aka The Shadow Council) that you’d want at Quincy’s side for the final showdown just aren’t there. Second, Quincy’s gang is instead the archangels, who are generally broken and boorish, making scenes with them more frustrating than fun. Seriously, they’re all douches. Third, the resolution is based more on a cheat than a visceral throw down... and that just wasn’t nearly as satisfying. But, that’s a problem with any plot involving the Devil, right? You can never completely defeat, kill, or win ... the Devil always survives in some form.

Although I enjoyed the book overall, I have to say I preferred the more standalone storylines, with more Shadow Council interaction with Quincy (wanted more Dracula, Frankenstein’s monster, Jo Henry, etc) There was also a lot of grandstanding by Quincy, who kept expounding on how he’s Quincy MF-ing Harker. The “do you know who I am” shtick got old... and Quincy is supposed to be about action, not words. He’s supposed to be the bull in the china shop. And yes, there was a lot of Quincy kicking magical ass. But, there was a lot of pontificating on his prowess, or what he thought about each archangel, or him talking people down instead of putting them down. Which made this a bit of a let down.

However, if you enjoyed the omnibus, you’ll enjoy this, if only for the development of Dennis the Unicorn and to play the drinking game every time someone says “we’re F-Ed” or Quincy says “I’m Quincy MF-ing Harker”.

I love this series and all the books john writes ... just hit after hit..the characters are fun and make you care about them which is always nice... can't wait for the next chapter of Q's journey

Fantastic series, but..

Absolutely love this series, but the ending to the latest novel left me scratching my head as it flies in the face of everything Harker has suffered and bleed through to accomplish so far. I'm not going to give the game away, but I bet there are more than a few puzzled by the latest Epilogue. 🤔

As usual, another four great stories in one great listen. This book concludes the Quest for Glory storyline, but before it gets to it, we get another side quest, this time, from Gaby. Really love this series

I loved everyone of the books

I would spend all my credits on this grouping of books. I got all the box sets so it made getting them easy.. The MC is fun loving and nuts lol the supporting cast are awesome. The reader had a great voice for all the cast. Great job
