Welcome to The Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore and Bar. I'm Sam Quinn, the werewolf book nerd in charge. I run my business by one simple rule: Everyone needs a good book and a stiff drink, be they vampire, wicche, demon, or fae. No wolves, though. Ever.
I serve the supernatural community of San Francisco. We've been having some problems lately. Okay, I'm the one with the problems. The broken body of a female werewolf washed up on my doorstep. What makes sweat pool at the base of my spine, though, is realizing the scars she bears are identical to the ones I conceal. After hiding for years, I've been found.
A protection I've been relying on is gone. While my wolf traits are strengthening steadily, the loss also left my mind vulnerable to attack. Someone is ensnaring me in horrifying visions intended to kill. Clive, the sexy vampire Master of the City, has figured out how to pull me out, designating himself my personal bodyguard. He's grumpy about it, but that kiss is telling a different story. A change is taking place. It has to.

When a jaguar shifter drops in and asks for help in tracking down an ancient blood-magic statuette, I say no thank you. I learned a long time ago the key to survival is keeping a low profile. But it's hard to ignore an artifact of the gods powerful enough to blow holes in reality. Enter stalker werewolves in a black Mercedes and magicians trying to capture me. They all think I know where the damned statue is. Then I'm attacked by demons. It wouldn't be so bad, but some of them are really rude. Being rude is a capital crime where I come from. Interest increased.
For me, this story had a slow start. I had to relisten to a few chapters @ the beginning, because I would mentally wander off. Once I got through the first 3-4 chapters, my interest really peaked. So much so, that I rewound, several times to relisten to a few of the hilarious parts! I listen to it while driving, & have had more than 1 person look @ me oddly @ a red light/stop sign as I'm cracking up! They probably thought that I had escaped the loony bin! Good storyline so much so that I'm on her 2nd book now. I now see why Ms. B, authors Mom, is so proud of her!

The story has its moments but the main character is too stupid to live. I’m surprised she didn’t spend half the book falling down when running away from monsters.

Great characters and storyline
First book I’ve read/listened to of Seana Kelly’s and I truly enjoyed it. Loved the characters and how the evolve throughout the book and the storyline was great, lots of twists and turns and a complete page turner.

Pleasantly surprised

Strong, scarred, beautiful heroine!
