About this listen

"I'm not your savior."

I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them.

Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

With the crimes of his past life haunting him in the form of the Legacy, Arthur can no longer afford to hone only his strength. He must also empower those closest to him or risk losing them all.

Love the Audibooks: but sheeesh this new narrator

Mrs Evans successfully butchers all the voice lines and screws with the flow and tention written by TurtleMe... Makes no sense to switch things up this far in and with a VA that cannot portray emotion... Every character voiced by Mrs Evans sounds the same, every line be it badass or unemotional, the same delivery... Horrible administrative desicion, would absolutely pay full price again just to hear it all in the OG VA from Travis...

Elizabeth Evans needs to go

She uses the same voice for every character, throws off the story, and has no emotion. It will say the character says something in a deadpan voice and she will hold the same tone for the entire reading. She throws off the flow of the very well-written story and ruins a lot of the emersión. A single character should only be read by a single person yet sometimes she voices Arthur which just muddies everything up. I deeply hope that they go back to the old style with this next book or that she gives them their voices and she only reads when it’s a female talking. Besides that, the book is very good and Travis B. did great as always.

Awesome

This was a great progression and I can’t wait for the next one book in the series.

GOOD but.

the story Is great but the new narrator don't really sync with the story and her rhythm doesn't add up to the speed and aggressiveness of fight scenes, not trying to be rude but it sounds like I'm listening/reading a news paper.

Amazing book, narrator switch up was a bad idea

Really just reiterating what it seems like most are agreeing on. This book and story are amazing. The only story complaint is that I want more, but the change in narrators really took away from the experience. It would have been bad enough if they just changed characters voices and the woman was really good, but unfortunately she is not very good. She takes huge audible breaths after each sentence and it’s really distracting. She’s not very good at giving the characters unique voices or emoting. I think it would be best to do Travis only and that it would even be a good idea to re-release this book with Travis only.

Another voice to read the female characters

Great book really getting deep into the story of Arther. Can’t wait to hear from these voices in book 11

Why just why?

Why would you have same narrator for 9 books and then change it, it almost ruined the book for me

bringing it all together

It's been a heck of a journey so far and book 10 is in the top 3 for me personally. I was up at 3am laying in bed not able to fall asleep because I kept telling myself just one more chapter. TurtleMe has done such a great job with this series. I want to write an essay about it, but I'll keep it short. Great characters, great world building, great job putting so many pieces together. 👏 Also, Travis Baldree is the man. Aleric (the drunk guy) gets his own POV chapter and Baldree crushes it. Elizabeth Evans did a good job too. The Elizabeth and kara chapters were a nice pov/voice acting change of pace.

changing voice actors is hard to follow

I want to start off by saying the story is great as always. I had a hard time with the switching narrators. Travis is the main reason I found this series and gave it a try. I felt like I would have finished this book so much sooner if he was the only narrator. with that being said I don't think Elizabeth did a bad job, it just made it hard to stay immersed. I almost felt like I was starting a new book every couple chapters. why would you try to fix what's not broken?
