Good Average Light Novel
This is a good, old light novel with an MC in a fairly unique circumstance. I really liked it for what it is. The cluelessness of the MC is a little tropey, but it's easy to believe that he would never imagine a girl of her station would be into him. As a reader, I didn't really understand her attraction either, but there is a bonus chapter at the end of the novel that explains that back story and made me feel better about accepting it. At any rate, check this out of the summary sounds good to you.

The English dub just came out
Aside from the anime series, I also bought the LNs. this series is pretty good. The storyline is very emotional of a struggling protagonist that has not choice bur to literally, fight to live.
