Interesting

An interesting mystery this time around. Lots of suspects, twists and turns. I like how Bree handles her job and juggles it with taking care of her niece and nephew. A work in progress, but she is working on it. Her relationship with Matt is evolving nicely. Yep! I am still reading this series as the books come available. Although, this time I listened on Audible. The narrator, was alright. Her style seemed like I was listening to an old episode of Dragnet though. Not a lot of emotion, if any at all. The story was good though.

Well written, In depth Characters over several novels.

I enjoy the characters and how Melinda Leigh develops them further and their life stories over numerous novels.
The plot well ordered and keeps you riveted.

I have truly become enamored with the story of Bree. Every book I finish, I need more! That’s the measure of a great story I suppose. I can’t wait for the next one…in fact, I’ll start it right now 🤣

Always Worth the Credit & Time

Author Melinda Leigh is a go-to when I'm looking for a well-written suspense novel with a touch of romance. She never disappoints, and the Bree Taggert series is one of my absolute favorites. The characters here are rich and varied, meshing together like a fine tapestry.

This particular storyline is gasp-worthy as Bree and her investigator Matt find themselves facing a brutal antagonist. He's not only a creep and a serial killer, he's violently cruel. This is probably the most intense case in the Bree Taggert series, with triggers for readers sensitive to kidnapping, domestic abuse, and pure physical violence. It's a story I will not soon forget, even as I (always) eagerly await the next installment in this fantastic series.
