Acerca de esta escucha

Daisy, a widowed mom of two teenagers, is used to feeling protective - so when Iris started dating the wealthy and not-quite-divorced Harvey Fitz, she worried...especially after his bitter ex stormed in and caused a scene at the party Daisy's Tea Garden was catering. Then there was the gossip she overheard about Harvey's grown children being cut out of his will. Daisy didn't want her aunt to wind up with a broken heart - but she never expected Iris to wind up a suspect in Harvey's murder.

Now the apple bread and orange pekoe is on the back burner while the cops treat the shop like a crime scene - and Daisy hopes that Jonas Groft, a former detective from Philadelphia, can help her clear her aunt's name and bag the real killer before things boil over....

Delightful and charming. Suspenseful with a blossoming sweet romance. Outstanding narrator. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Now I want to get back into tea and start baking again! Loved the characters , so endearing and genuine. Can’t wait to read more from this author! Hoping there is more, indeed, about these characters !

Compelling and uplifting.

Good company, while driving in traffic! Nice story and nice reader. I enjoyed it very much.

Easy Listening

The female characters are naïve and hard to believe in. Some of the character voices need work ie daughters. Story could have been much better if lead females were strong instead of whinny, weak Auntie and naive, somewhat obnoxious Daisy. Struggled to get to the end.

Could use some work

Well developed plot. There are enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. There is enough action to keep it interesting.

You won't see this one coming

Overall enjoyed the story. My one sticking point and this happens a bit with these types of stories is the idea of not wanting to look guilty to the police, so you dont get a lawyer right away. In this day and age are we still doing this nonesense? That's naive and it seriously upsets me and kinda ruins my enjoyment of the stories.

Enjoyable but...

The main character explains things too much and mom splains a lot it’s a bit cheesy but an ok easy listen. Not a huge fan of the voice who reads the story.

It was ok

I haven't delved into audio books in a while but I really enjoyed this one. Without giving anything away... I thought the storyline of the mystery itself was good. There were some predictable parts but not so much that it was annoying but thats why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I live in the region in which the book is set (philadlephia region.. South East PA) and I thought the description of the area and of PA in general was pretty good and actually made me feel more involved with the story. I can't wait to start book 2.

Good cozy murder mystery

I don't know how to describe it, whether it was her cadence or pace or annunciation or what. It just wasn't a natural story-telling method. Jazzy's voice just didn't fit as a teenage girl but the other voices were okay. The story itself wasn't bad, a bit predictable except for the ending which almost seemed like a "oh, we're at the end, so let's just pull something out of a hat to wrap it up" ending. Not that it's a bad thing to have an unexpected ending but there was literally nothing up to that point (in my opinion) that prepared me for it to be THAT person. I'm trying to listen to Book 2 now, same narrator so it's painful. It doesn't help that (even though I don't remember her doing this in Book 1) she has pronounced SCONES as "SKAWNS" about a dozen times and I'm still in the first chapter. Seriously? How does this slip through?

I struggled with the narrator

I enjoyed this audio book. The family and friends in this book are warm and realistic. I found myself wanting to have tea at Daisy’s Tea Garden and taste her scones!

Not too fast not too slow
