Unfortunately, someone has iced Baxter Malloy on his first date with Mel's mother. Now, her mom is a suspect, and Mel and Angie need to find time to dig into the man's shady past and discover who served him his just desserts.

In the third book, Death by the Dozen, Melanie and Angie are determined to win the Challenge to the Chef to promote their Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery. Mel's mentor from culinary school, Vic Mazzotta, is one of the judges, but when his dead body is found inside a freezer truck, they'll need to use their best judgment to find the cold-blooded killer...or they may lose more than the contest.

Fun easy listening story

This is a very good book to listen to. It is easy to follow and the author pulls you in to the story.

I might be a little simple, but I enjoyed it very much. It was just what I needed.

Enjoyable and fun!

Love the friendship and their movie quotes! Reminds me of my friends and family doing that lol! Just a great series to relax and listen to.

Good characters

The story was well put together and interesting characters were well drawn and believable characters

Good story line, enjoyed the characters

I enjoyed the first book , listening to second now. It’s an easy , quality book to listen to. Characters draw you in. I listen to a lot of audio books and this narrator has to be my least favorite, her voice is just one note .

Love this series

Although the narration isn’t always the best, after the 3rd book in the series, I’ve gotten to it. I really enjoy the cozy mystery books and this one is no exception. I love all the characters and the setting. I do get sweet cravings while listening though! 😂

Cozy with Cupcakes

Exactly what it says: it's a cute cozy series with cupcakes and murder. The characters are fun and especially the supporting staff at the bakery are original and amusing. It loses a star for the story (the reader is fine) because like 99% of cozies, half the protagonist's problems both personally and crime-wise would be solved if she used her big girl words. This goes to the extreme with their rival baker where by book 3 her 'quirky rivalry' antics have passed the point where any sane person would have filed for a restraining order.

Like a vacation for my brain

With all the stress of a busy life, I never thought this little fictional cupcake bakery and the colorful cast of characters surrounding it would bring me so much comfort and joy. Even though these books aren’t the most elaborate mysteries, they’re just so much fun and I like keeping up with the characters and their happy lives (aside from all the murders.) The mysteries are still fun to guess as an audience member, and every book has its own funny B plot as well that adds to the experience. Also very inspiring, I find myself baking a lot while listening to these.

Love this series!

The mysteries have some slight peril, lots of humour, and solid friendships. Excited to finish the series!
