About this listen

The first novella set in the universe of James S. A. Corey's epic Captive's War series.

Humanity's war is eternal, spread across the galaxy and the ages. Humanity's best hope to end the endless slaughter is the Livesuit forces. Soldiers meld their bodies to the bleeding edge technology, becoming something more than human for the duration of a war that might never end.

Powerful and believable

James A. Corey weaves believable characters and group interactions together like Tarantino. This novella hits a nerve at the intersection of the honor of military service and what it takes from you. I’m very much looking forward to reading more in the captives war series.

well told, honest, & depressing

This book will probably haunt me, but it also got me to buy the first book of the series.

Great idea and very well told

I love the books by Corey and the Novellas are such good additions to the series. Love them on their own and for the detail they provide.

Interesting

Another interesting story from great storytellers with good narration. I’m liking this new series and am happy that I might end up liking it as much as the Expanse

Tasty morsel from the Captives War universe

Perfect little Novella, nicely thought-provoking in such a short story. I hope there will be more of these. Jefferson Mays is amazing. Nice echoes of the Forever War with new twists.

Wow!

I envy the skill of these two authors. I really can't wait for the next novella or novel in the captives war.

A Nice Companion to "Mercy of the Gods"

Fills in some of the unanswered questions from "Mercy of the Gods". The story fills in some backstory regarding the mystery of the "enemies".
