About this listen

Cha Ming and Huxian have faced the heavens and lived....

Crippled and broken, Cha Ming finds himself in an isolated village. Only the efforts of a mortal doctor are keeping him alive. His qi pathways are ravaged, and his organs are failing. It’s only a matter of time before his wounds claim him.

Meanwhile, Huxian finds himself in his natural environment - a mountain crawling with powerful demons. To survive, he’ll need to eat or be eaten. It’s a good thing eating is what he does best. One man. One fox. One shared life. If one fails, so does the other....

The author does an awesome job of work creating and involves the reader in all the intricate details of the lives of the people in the world. The narrator is also one of my favorite narrators and it’s been fun hearing him read these books.

Really fun books to listen to

This is an amazing cultivator Series, as a devoted fan of the genre I highly recommend it

great series!

I’ve held back my thoughts on this series until now. This is just ridiculously beautiful. Character development and world building, story progression.. all well executed. The presence of two protagonists also heightens the suspense. Can’t wait to finish the entire series.

Beautiful, Absolutely Riveting Story!

I'm already on book 6 so I'm not sure the details on this one, but It was good enough for me to buy book 4. I'm really enjoying the overall story

good book

The over done slavery trope in this book makes most of the middle of the book unenjoyable to read. It is so overdone it feel like the author just copied that section for another book.

I had high hope for for this book

A proper depowered arc in a cultivation novel. I like that the female characters were not sacrificed for emotional value via sexual assaults. Overall a great middle novel that sets up the rest of the series

Great middle novel

This book is just as good as the first two. I binge listened to it and wasn't bored for a second. I can't wait to listen to the next books. This author has skills.

Don't listen to the negative reviews!

I really enjoyed this book, just as much as the first two! I’m a fan of stories that have character development, and this book showed many of the characters development.

Love The Progression

I enjoyed this book, it was a quite good even if it wasn't perfect.
Sometimes it jumped to a different character's POV without enough notice so I was briefly disoriented.
I also am not a fan of enslavement and abuse, it's a brief part of the story but I could definitely see a certain inn scene being a trigger for some people, so be aware.

Another good one

This is the real deal. If you’ve listened to Isekai books and been appalled by the standards of authorship, or repulsed by the glaring grammatical missteps or even befuddled by the writers buffoonery that he masquerades as logical arguments then this series right here will redeem your faith in the category of fantasy novels. While there’s less fighting than the you might be accustomed to in the imitation form published on pocket fm there’s definitely no no lack of entertainment. Just persevere through the introductory ramblings about mambo jumbo and plunge into the story. You’ll most certainly enjoy every moment of it.

Really good listen if you love isekai.
