Not content to just seize the assets of Americans, the United States government paints a target on the backs of survivalists and preppers, demanding that all Americans turn in their guns, ammunition, and food, and placing restrictions on travel.

With the family in the cross-hairs, will they make it safely to their farm? Or will they fall victim to the machinations of a government who no longer believes in the Land of the Free?

Fun, entertaining, well-written collapse scenario

Forgotten Forbidden America is about a financial collapse scenario, centering around a group of friends and their families. The main characters all bring something different to the table, and while they all have a preparedness plan, they're at various levels in terms of mentality and supplies. Although it's a scary time, and parents worry for themselves and the children, there's a lot of levity as well; couples flirt and friends joke around as they try to fortify their bug out location. They will not let the threats they face stop them from living life. Very interesting read, that will make you laugh, learn about preparedness, and get you thinking.

Joel Eutaw Sharpton does a great job with tone and pitch. He narrates as though he's in true conversations, whether it's by having appropriate emotions come through his voice or by laughing, clearing his throat, etc. where warranted. The editing wasn't completely clean; in a few places he starts sentences over. However, it doesn't detract from the narration or the story.

What a great story!

Well done! I loved the setting and the accuracy of the details and surrounding location. It's plausible and makes you think. Can't wait for the next book.

Great book

Great book, author knows his stuff. I also liked the narrator. I'm sure that next book in the series will be just as exciting. I highly recommend this book.

Great Story and Performance.

This is a great dystopian read. Rather poignant given the current political climate of 2020.

Fresh and sharp, interesting and engaging.

This is one of the better apocalypse/survivor novels I have listened to in some time. In fact, this is one of the better novels 'period' I have listened to lately. The writing is fresh and sharp, it is interesting and engaging. The characters are well-developed, likable, and totally believable. We even have a couple sex scenes between husband and wife thrown in, but it is tasteful and pleasant, suitable for the characters and the tone of the situation. In a word; refreshing. Our leading couple, Nelson and Michelle are typical working Americans before the stock markets crash and the government steps in to protect our assets and save us from making mistakes which may harm us; in other words, saving us from ourselves. The government double-talk results in seizing all savings assets of Americans; roughly twenty trillion dollars to shore up their over-spending and bad debt. Déjà vu 1999. Our core group of preppers consists of six to eight people who will come together in this crisis, consolidate supplies, equipment, and firearms, and prepare to head out to their bug out location being a farm several hundred miles away.

Amazing series

I just wish the rest of the series would be released on audible. Until then I’ll keep checking back :) thanks for an amazing story!
