About this listen

In Embrace Discomfort, Michael Easter seeks out off-the-grid visionaries, disruptive genius researchers, and mind-body conditioning trailblazers who are unlocking the life-enhancing secrets of a counterintuitive solution: discomfort. Each of the 10 episodes except for the final one will feature an expert in a discomfort area, including ultra-runner Courtney Dauwalter, survivalist Laura Zerra, nutritionist Dr. Trevor Kashey, and fear expert Dr. Joseph E. LeDoux

Award-winning author of NYT best seller The Comfort Crisis and the creator of 2%–a popular Substack and podcast—Michael Easter is a contributing editor at Men’s Health magazine, columnist for Outside magazine, and professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

I enjoyed all chapters except for the one about “walking with weight” (aka rucking). The interviewee made no sense and the whole chapter sounded like an advertisement for their upcoming app.

Pretty good but..

The fact that audible will not just let me give a star rating they want me to do it paragraph and a half while I’m driving down the road because I like the book and I want to give them stars and then I wanna move on. I don’t wanna write a book about the book, just remember something will happen today

Powerful definitely works. I’ve been doing it without knowing it and it’s good to put a language with what I was feeling.

I loved both of Michael Easter’s books, and was excited to see this pop up for free on Audible! It was awesome to hear from the expert in their own voice. Very grateful for finding this!

So helpful!

It was definitely informative and inspiring and confirmed many of the things I’m already doing if you’re struggling in life (especially with weight loss) give this a listen. It will help every little thing helps. Only downside to this book was it felt like half of it was just clips from his podcast. Not that theirs anything wrong with that I’m just not a fan of podcasts.

Enlightening and informative
