About this listen

The Bible is made up of 66 books that tell the magnificent story of God's redemptive work through Christ. In this audio recording of the full Bible, that story comes alive in a fresh way through the voice of author and pastor Ray Ortlund.

From Genesis to Revelation, this word-for-word reading of the ESV Bible text is a great way to encounter God's Word and the story of salvation on any phone, tablet, or computer.

Best Bible reader!

Most readers of the scriptures try to sound grand and imposing. Mr Outland just reads in a natural voice with meaningful inflections. I’ve listened to at least 8 different audio bibles and his narration is by far the best.

Such a smooth and expressive voice

The narrative voice of Ray Ortlund is absolutely fabulous. He pauses and adds emphasis with just the right timbre. I have another set of Bible audio CDs that I have listened to for years but I’m switching to this one as my primary audio book. If you’re not one for background music or drama and just want to hear the Bible in pure form, then this is the narrator for you. May God Bless Ray Ortlund for his exceptional work in producing this narrative of the word of God.

The best ESV audio available

This has easily become my new favourite version. Ray does a fantastic job with his emphasis and timing. You can tell his familiarity with the Scriptures just by the way he reads.

My only complaint is the addition of announcing the chapter numbers - it creates artificial breaks often times in the middle of a narrative and disconnects thoughts that should not be disconnected.
