No Reference Guide - Ouch!

What made the experience of listening to Complete NIV Audio Bible the most enjoyable?

David Suchet has a magical presence ideally suited for reading this treasured work aloud.

This is a wonderful edition to treasure. However, one cannot easily look up an individual passage or author because there is no reference guide at all. Yes, I repeat, in an audiobook of over 83 hours, there is apparently no reference guide to the various sections and parts. Yikes, how am I supposed to find what I want to hear without spending lots of needless effort to locate the precise passages I need. I was curious as to why there is no reference guide included so I called the staff at audible and they said it depends entirely upon the individual publishers. There are some other Bibles in the audible inventory which have reference guides, but sadly not this particular version. It takes so much enjoyment out of this purchase not to have adequate support in finding what you want rapidly and easily. It would have been so simple to have included a .pdf with the various sections explained.

I listen to David Suchet’s readings of the Bible each morning. His interpretation and tone are both excellent and beautiful, helping me draw close to the redeemer. Thank you!

Best Audio Version Out There

Wonderful reading of God’s Word. No noise or contrived music and sound effects. Just Suchet’s magnificent voice reading God’s perfect Word.

So beautifully and feelingly read! The only negative (and it’s a really big one) is that there are only “chapters” ( as in 1 - 1189). You have to just pick a number (he begins each chapter by reading the book name and chapter #) and go up or down from there. I think this is such a big deal that it warrants a 2 or 3 star rating. However, NIV is a wonderful translation of the greatest book ever written (compiled?) and the reading is so exquisitely done, that I must ignore that glaring flaw. If the publisher ever reads these reviews, this is something that should be repaired.

Fantastic Reading

I would recommend this to everyone to keep for a lifetime of listening!
He puts just the right inflection on the characters which made me know this is not the first time he's read the Bible.
I listen to it each night just before bed and find my soul at peace.
