Honest review from a person who does not have ADHD

Let me start with the narration. A good narrator is essential when it comes to listening to an audiobook. Anyone who listens to audiobooks knows this to be true. This book is narrated by Madeline Hawkins. She does a phenomenal job, but this review is supposed to be about the book, so I'll leave the narration at that. Just listen.

Now, you're probably thinking, why would a person who doesn't have ADHD buy this book. Well, the answer is because I wasn't really sure what ADHD was or if I had it or not. After listening to this book, I realized that I do not have ADHD, (I actually already do most of the things the author suggests in this book), but most of the American population probably does.

One of the books strength's that repeats throughout is that it provides a problem (such as organization or time management), gives short examples of the problem, and then provides techniques and/or strategies on how to assess/fix the problem.

I won't go into deep detail about the book. If you want to know some of techniques, such as the 10-minute cleanup, or the visual task board, you should listen/read the book. Some of these techniques could really help you focus in and stay on a task. These are important skills to help transform challenges into strengths, a common theme throughout the book and a common issue for those with ADHD.

Again, I don't want to give away too much of the content in the book, but this is a title you should probably pick up. The author's writing style is easy to read, with a simple but elegant vocabulary, while still being detailed even in a short and condensed way. This is important, because it makes reading/listening to the material more enjoyable rather than time consuming and repetitive.

At the end of the day, I would recommend this book to pretty much any audience.

a Guide That Actually Works for My ADHD Lifestyle!

It gets how overwhelming even basic cleaning tasks can feel with ADHD, and the tips are doable on a busy day. I loved the way it’s broken down to keep things short and manageable, it’s a real relief. The strategies to harness hyperfocus have been especially helpful, and I can get things done without feeling like I'm in an endless cycle of chaos. If you’re tired of one-size-fits-all approaches and need something that fits an ADHD mindset, this is a winner!
