Astounding and inspirational
I heard Dr. Gladys McGarey interviewed on NPR and was hooked. I was not disappointed in this memoir/self help journey on how to approach life. Her life span and accomplishments alone are worth the read. But this book is honest and not boring. Funny too. She’s like the grandma you never had but very progressive.

Life affirming and a pure joy!
I loved listening to this story. Hearing Dr McGarey's stories in her own words was great and the narrator for the rest of the book fit the material perfectly.
The guidance Dr McGarey offers seems deceptively simple but to actually practice what she is recommending is not simple at all. This takes work (of the best kind) and the results speak for themselves, not only in her life but those of many of the patients stories she shared. I have met patients of hers and have known Dr. Gladys for many years. She and her message are "the real deal". I truly wonderful book. I highly recommend it!

wise words and wonderful story telling
