Acerca de esta escucha

They ordered her to seduce him and cast him aside . . .

He was commanded to protect her . . . but no one told them to fall in love.

A Highlander's duty . . .

A summons from court could be a dangerous thing, especially for Graham MacCoinnich. He says what he thinks, and his clan's treasonous rumblings coupled with their risky alliances cast both kith and kin in a dubious light. But King William's order turns out to be anything but dire.

Surprising? Yes. Enticing? Without a doubt. The exquisite Lady Mercy Claxton, most cherished goddaughter of the king, requires a protective escort through Scotland and Graham is happy to offer his services.

Contains mature themes.

Highland Hero

I love the narrator's voice. He brings each character to life and makes it exciting when he gives such a good performance.
The story is original and exciting. Twists and turns you will not expect.

Just not good.

I try to find something redeeming in every predictable Scots/Highlands romance novel and usually I'm a fan of narrator Antony Ferguson, but this missed the mark on pretty much every level for me. It wasn't a good story. It was predictable. Lacked logic. There wasn't a lot to the romance. The love scenes were boring. As in... the male lead honestly didn't seem like an especially good lover.

I can't blame Antony Ferguson for bad writing, but his flat reading of the love scenes didn't help. And although the interactions with the modiste/acupuncturist character (just...why?) are blessedly brief, his impression of an Asian woman speaking broken English made me cringe.
